Personality: Mace is very different from his brother Blade in many ways but the one things they have in common is their direct nature they will both tell you what they exactly think he is overly aggressive and hates pretty much everyone one who has an opinion different from his own he will kill someone just for being in his way and he is feared by most of the griffins in the army and that is the only reason Hayate didn't chose him to be the seconded in command she knew it would cores problems if the army was afraid of both the leader and her second in command so instead she chose someone who could inspire the army rather then forced obedience 

Bio: Mace and Blade grew up together but they always hated each other and although never of them had any friends Mace was never lonely as he could inspire fear in others better then most so even though everyone hated him he was able to find some followers or as he called them his lackeys eventually their parents decided to banish Blade because they had enough of his weakness although he still believes that he was kicked out for his honesty once Mace and his brother joined Hayate's army Mace was always one of the first griffins to fly on the battlefield and he always killed the most enemies than anyone except Hayate herself In battle, you could see the bloodlust in his eyes and when it came time for eat a phoenix heart Mace disobeyed Hayate orders when he was told to eat a Phoenix heart not because he was week like his brother but because he had his eyes set on one of four specific Phoenix hearts the heart of Thundra, Phoenixia, Winter, and their mother Snow.
