Chikori How? How did I lose? I... I'm... This means nothing! Nothing at all! It was just a fluke that's all! Battered and bruised, Chikori slumped into a seat backstage, as close to the buffet table as possible. Not wasting a moment, she began gorging herself, partially for comfort but mostly due to her Saiyan appetite, all the while going over in her head just what had happened. How did she lose? Where had it all gone wrong? It started off well. That girl with the stupid hair (sure, she claimed it was a traditional Saiyan hairstyle based on that of the royal family) had opened with a bunch of flashy laser-y things, but Chikori had dodged them easily! Sure, Coco had better control of her ki but she couldn't beat Chikori's speed. And she'd soon closed the gap between the two, fists flying at high speed as they both sparred, neither of them seeming to land a good hit against the other; they seemed evenly matched when it came to fisticuffs, but again Chikori's speed gave her a slight edge... And then she'd hit her with her patented Landslide Fist! Her heart had swelled when she heard the roar of the crowd as each punch hit dead on target, driving Coco closer and closer to the edge... She could do this! At that moment, she knew she could do it! All she needed to do was land her Dynamite Kick right in Coco's chest and... And... ...And she wasn't there anymore. Her foot went flying through the air, and somehow she managed to only just barely avoid falling out of bounds herself. Was that an afterimage? Had Coco just... But she had no time to think about it, as her entire body had suddenly turned limp. Barely able to turn her head around, she saw... Yes, it was Coco. She was behind her, an arrogant smirk plastered across her face as one hand tightly gripped Chikori's tail. Sadistically, she slowly raised her free hand, and in a flash of ki... ...She refused to admit it! She was a proud Saiyan, after all, and there was no way she could've been taken out by an afterimage technique, the oldest trick in the book! No, no, no! It was... It wasn't what was supposed to happen... Despondent, the young Saiyan girl spent the next few matches stuffing her face whilst occassionally looking at the other fights. At least they seemed to be doing pretty well... And she'd never seen a Majin or a Namekian fight before. Honestly, they were really good... Almost as good as she wished she could be. Well, "wish" was probably the wrong word, what with the Dragon Balls being here and all. She'd never use them to gain strength; after all, that was cheating, and it would just feel hollow to not achieve it by her own power. Still... She didn't seem to be getting there anytime soon...
