Jin shuffled down the corridor, with the last burger half-eaten in her hand. There was a group of students conversing in front of her, and for a moment she was right back in middle school. They made it look effortless, socializing, speaking to each other. They were so... normal. Even here, she was pretty lost. Her first day of middle school, she'd nearly gotten expelled for fighting. It wasn't her fault that some older girl decided to start a fight. How was she supposed to know that she wasn't supposed to win? The way she'd grown up, the only way to keep yourself safe was to finish a fight that was started. A fight was finished when you won, and the other person wasn't moving, or they were bloodied enough to know better the next time. Rumor around the school was that she'd broken the girl's nose and collarbone; the year had been filled with suspicious side glances and solitary lunches, students and teachers alike looking at her as if they were waiting for her to explode. She tried to put the memories back into her mind, and nervously approached the students who were talking. She recognized at least one of them- he'd been the motormouthed speedster who came in late. The girl was vaguely familiar, but the other guy was not. Clearing her throat, she lifted a hand in greeting. "Hey." Okay, greeting done. Now, what was next? "Uh..." Think, dammit, Jin! "So... what classes are you all taking?"
