Katniss was ready to fill up and get back to training and to perhaps see what had happened with Johanna. While she and Katniss weren't friends by any definition, they had at least been able to find some commonalities with combat and other opinions geared toward the Capitol. And while Katniss didn't really care what Johanna did, Katniss was curious about why the girl had lost her temper. When Haymitch asked about Gale and Prim's evening, she looked up, interested to find out what they had been up to. Effie then chimed in and made a display of disapproving of Haymitch's word choice. Katniss glanced back down and resumed eating as Prim was the first to speak up. As the others got situated, Gale dished himself up some scrambles eggs and some wheat toast. As he started to apply some strawberry jam to one of his toast slices, the topic of last night came up and Prim was first to reply. He comment made him cringe a little. How was he supposed to know the guy has been flirting with him? He shrugged a little and gave a tiny smile. "Very funny." He eyed Haymitch. Personally, Gale didn't think it was that amusing. The pair had been nicer than the others and for that, he was really grateful. "What's important is that they like our District and do what they can to help us." He pointed out, bringing the topic back down to reality. "Oh, come on Gale." Katniss spoke up, not the only one intrigued by the turn of events. She knew he wasn't the best when it came to noticing people around him but she would have loved to see some guy coming onto Gale, whether her best friend knew it or not. "I'm not surprised you've got some fans." She shrugged as she took a drink, taking a break from her plate of food. "Hopefully you didn't get too jealous, Prim." She teased a little and then noticed Haymitch had nudged her a bit under the table. This caused her to throw him a small smirk before she went back to eating. "What about you Peeta? I could have sworn you were with someone too." Peeta looked to Katniss and at first opened his mouth to reply but then stopped himself. He wiped his mouth perhaps as a way to gather his thoughts before replying. "I did meet someone." He confirmed. "Who?" Katniss pressed, she was never one to care about gossip. Even back in school she tuned out what others had to say about people or family situations but she was really interested to hear about her friends. And maybe there was a small part of her that wanted to know if Peeta had moved on and if that was the case, Katniss needed to know more. A lot more. Gale looked from Prim and then to Peeta who seemed rather close lipped about his new situation. Gale knew it was selfish but he hoped whoever Peeta was with, wasn't some distraction for the plan they were all relying on. Of course it could be another ally of theirs. So for now, he also wanted to see if the blond would give them any information or not. "Her name is Zinnia and she works at a store nearby that sells electronic devices." Peeta said. That was of course not what they really wanted to hear about. "We had a good time together, she was very informative about how things are handled around here-" Peeta stopped himself when he felt Effie's eyes making a large hole in his own forehead. He cleared his throat and knew he was being too careless with what he was saying. "She was hoping to meet you guys but maybe another time." He said, giving that last nugget. He was being reckless and he needed to stop. Zinnia would be a good asset to have in the Capitol, just in case. But the boy enjoyed her company far beyond that of some device useful to their plan. She was behind the Mockingjay Movement. The Rebellion may be bigger in the districts but Zinnia had informed them that a budding population in the city itself, was ready to help. In any way. "Yeah sure, have her drop by when we're fighting in the Games, we can have tea and paint our nails." Katniss said sarcastically. It wasn't like they'd have much time between now and then, in her mind. Unlike Katniss, Gale had picked up on some of the not so subtle cues Peeta had been giving them. He glanced to Effie who went back to eating and then back to Peeta, very grateful for the effort he was putting in. They were all risking something but Peeta would be pretty vulnerable like anyone else, possibly even more so. "It's a shame we didn't all get together." Gale said, pulling the topic away from reality now, rather than towards it. His nights with Prim and the possible future they could make together was making him remember reality but also that beyond it, was also a good place to look sometimes. He finished and got up from the table, a hand resting behind Prim, holding onto her chair gently. "I'm ready to head down if you guys are." He said happily. "Yeah me too." Katniss replied and got up, stretching her arms some. "Hey Prim..." She noticed her sister's attempt at doing her own braid. A pang of sadness radiated from her. Doing each other's hair was something they always did in the mornings. Sometimes their mom would help too and it was a way to bond together, sort of. "Nevermind." Katniss just said and followed Gale down the stairs, trying to tell herself that Prim wasn't a kid anymore and that she could do her own hair however she wanted. It just felt like with everything happening, that the two hadn't gotten much time together. Katniss wished they had more time to chat before the Ball last night and now things were picking back up again. When Prim joined them down in the living room, Katniss put an arm around her sister's shoulders and hugged her side. "Why don't we grab lunch up here together?" She suggested. After Gale smiled at the sisters, he pressed the button for the elevator to come up and get them so they could get back to training. He hoped they spent more time together. He knew he couldn't keep Prim all the time, nor did he want to. He also wanted to spend some time with Katniss. After their big talk a few nights ago, he needed to check in and make sure they were still friends. So far Katniss hadn't indicated otherwise but he wanted to make sure they went into the Games as a team, people with bonds that couldn't easily be broken. His eyes moved to Haymitch now, the last one to saunter down the steps. Gale also felt the need to check in with the man, having finally noticed that Katniss had been glued to his side, rather than tagging along with him and her sister. Of course he also considered Katniss didn't want to be a third wheel but even so, they were still friends. At the notion of Prim and Katniss eating together, he was sure he could use the cue to see if Haymitch wanted to eat together but it sounded weird and to be honest, he was still a bit intimidated by the man so he kept his mouth shut. The elevator arrived and he quickly walked inside and the three joined him. "Back to work." Gale sighed softly as they glided downwards and were deposited in the lobby and headed for the training room. Many of the Tributes were getting to work, slowly but surely. But a handful were sitting around near weights, trying to take it easy. He grinned, feeling rather happy with his smart choices last night. "We saw this coming." He commented to Prim, remembering their conversation last night. "I'm gonna go find Johanna." Katniss spoke up and headed off to do just that, a pleased smile on her face as she considered how full of energy she was after last night's events. But she also wanted to talk, not just spar. And what better cover to talk than when you were throwing punches?
