Name: Kingdom of Greater Solaria General Galactic Location (If Applicable): Middle-Rim of the Galactic Northwest History: In the wake of increasing technological across the eras, blending organics and technology together and blurring the line between humans and robots, a rather large segment of the human population was opposed. Many of them feared losing their humanity to the Singularity, wondering if they would be human at all - or just another construct. Decisions were made to reject the majority of the enhancements, with exceptions in the case of necessity like prosthesis and artificial organ replacements. These people were by no means Luddites, as they continued to develop technology and utilize it along with their transhuman brethren. But political factions had begun to form in governments on Earth and elsewhere, urging for the preservation of human physiology. These people were dedicated to developing the human body as it always had been. As the humans began to spread out of their system and into other planets, the preservationists went peaceably to their own systems, dubbed the Solaria Cluster. The brightness of the original Solaria System was seen as a beacon for those who did not want to sully their bodies with unnecessary cybernetics, prone to unintended dangers. Technology would make up for the difference: colonists arrived in exosuits until their worlds were terraformed. The Solarians became masters of exosuit building, able to develop the strongest, fastest, and most advanced machines to compensate for their lack of cybernetics. Able to function anywhere at anytime, the Solarians quickly became a formidable force on the battlefield and elsewhere. The exosuit was a staple of society, with anyone who worked anything labor intensive such as dockworkers and military personnel utilizing them. Technology like AIs were used to complement human abilities. Extraterrestrials, however, were notably absent from the Solaria Cluster, and are typically migrant workers found on the outskirts and on incoming foreign trade vessels. Governmental rule of Solaria is headed by King Aram III. As humanity left Earth, Joseph Ohanian became the first to scout the Solarian Cluster. He spent years of his life detailing everything about where settlers could live and work, and brought his data back to Earth. When it was found that factors like radiation and habitable worlds matched what the humans knew was amiable to terrestrial life, Joseph Ohanian led the first Solarian convoys out of the Sol System. A democratic government was upheld by the people for fifty years, until the nation was too large for a slow-paced government to operate efficiently. A coup was orchestrated by Joseph Ohanian's descendents, claiming the discovery of the system granted them the right to rule. The Solarian Democratic Council was abolished, and Kasa Ohanian was appointed as the first monarch. Luckily for the Solarians, Kasa Ohanian (King Kasa I) was versed in his father's respectful tolerance and was not the tyrant that some had feared of. His rule, and the rule of his descendants, had kept the growing kingdom in line through crises and expansion. A constitution was organized so that the monarchs could not rule simply how they wished, assuaging some concerns about absolutism and the government. Elements of democracy remained, such as a council for governance elected by the people, but the monarch was still very much in charge. The Solarians remain a powerful influence on the galaxy despite their philosophical stance. They are heavily involved with galactic politics and continue dominate the northwestern rims. It remains to be seen what their stances will look like in the future as the winds change. Other: I'll get to this later.
