I enjoy the duality of Synn. It's subtle, the changes when he switches from "malevolence to benevolence" as you aptly call it. It's not so drastic that it's irritating, like he ends up dispatching the wolf or yelling at Ybris then... bam! Back to nice ol' Synn. It works how you did it.
