The morning had been productive for Katniss. She was able to get back to the physical side of training, rather than polishing her already near perfect archery. There were still plenty of weaknesses that she needed to tend to. She wasn't physically strong due to a lack of mass and muscle but she was working on it. She was trying out new ways to get out of an ambush and Johanna was good help in that regard. During their sparring sessions, fifteen minutes broken up by five minute water breaks, Katniss tried to figure out what last night was all about, why Johanna had been acting up. Johanna was tight lipped however and Katniss knew better than to tick her off. When the afternoon rolled around, Katniss said her goodbye to the people she was with, Johanna, Finnick and some others, before she went off to find Prim and get something to eat up in the suite. She grabbed a white towel and wiped her face and set it down in the basket of dirty towels people had used after swimming or working up a sweat as she had done. Spotting Prim, she walked over and gave her sister a smile before they moved over to the elevator. Most others were heading off to the cafeteria to eat but they didn't concern her at the moment. Once in the Games, that would be something else entirely. "I think there's something upstairs to help your cut." She said to Prim. Once they were in the elevator, Prim mentioned she was starving and the older brunette could only chuckle and nod. "Me too, it feels good to work hard after such an extended break." She said. Not much else was said until they were back home. Or what could pass as a home for the moment. "Oh, I wanted to see if she was okay after last night. I didn't see what happened but boy could we hear..." Katniss trailed off as she followed Prim and asked an Avox to get something for Prim's cut. She knew first hand that a bit of ointment would do wonders. "Other than that, we didn't talk too much." Neither of the ladies were avid conversationalists so the silence was at least mutual. Almost comfortable. "It's been a while since we've gotten to sit down and talk." She frowned as she grabbed some slices of sandwiches as well as some fruit salad. She could ask about Gale but she didn't want to talk about him, this was time with Prim. She could mention home and their mother but that didn't seem right either. "I think you're really improving." Was all Katniss could offer. "Everyone back home is going to be really rooting for you when they see what you can do." Her lips turned into a smile. As far as training went for Gale, he spent time with the sword but he also made time to catch up with some of the other Tributes who looked like they hadn't had a rough start in the morning. He was interested in focusing on something other than swordsmanship so he spent the other half of the morning working on agility and stealth. He was already solid when it came to endurance and identifying plants and animals, as well as trapping game. But for the Games, he had to try and think of every situation and even then, he would never be truly prepared. The books back up in the room had helped as had the weight lifting but he feed off the energy of the others around him. He could feel the will to live buzzing around like annoying bugs. But in this case, they weren't annoying at all. In fact, Gale was more sure now, that the plan would work. Prim was steadily improving. Even though it looked like she injured herself, he knew her trial and error would need to involve some injury so she wasn't caught off guard in the Games if she was injured without knowing how to handle it. The pressure in the Games would be unimaginable. Even so, he could tell it would be hard but not impossible. Prim, Katniss and even Haymitch were all pulling their weight and Gale was sure they would have a fighting chance with their new alliances. As lunch neared, he spotted Primrose and Katniss heading off together. That was good, they needed some time together as he knew he had been hogging Prim in a way and that wasn't fair to Katniss. At the same time though, Haymitch and Katniss were also seeming inseparable. It could have happened with the training back home, or because Prim and Gale were otherwise preoccupied. Either way, Gale knew things needed to get shaken up so they were all still on the same page: a team, a family. "Sure." Gale replied, surprised by Haymitch beckoning him. "Thanks." He said and followed the man off into the cafeteria to get something to eat. It was a little difficult to be in a situation with Haymitch and having to lie but Gale hoped he didn't screw anything up. It was a thin line between being secretive and being a jerk about it. When they all sat down, he took a drink of milk and looked around at the other veterans. "It's nice to meet you all." He started off by saying though he wasn't sure what else to add. Ask for advice? No. Mention how crappy the situation was? Nope. "Do any of you have any thoughts about the up coming evaluations?" He asked, figuring the topic was current but not too depressing. At this point everyone knew what everyone was capable of and the evaluations were for the Gamemakers and high profile sponsors so he'd like to think the topic would be interesting to discuss.
