I can't write happy or overly energetic characters, and if I do have to write one (like when I'm writing prose), they're usually side-characters who are there to act as foils to our rather downbeat protagonist and as comic relief. I also find it difficult to write little kids. And tomboyish girls, as well. I can write relatively feminine girls and very androgynous girls, but if I try to write a tomboy? I find it reeeeeally difficult.
