Aoba noticed Kuro from the corner of his eye, but stayed silent. His wings were tucked and his legs were crossed as he stargazed. The fallen angel subconsciously scooted closer to Kuro as he wrapped a wing around him, noticing how much warmer it had gotten with him there. It made him realize how cold it was. Aoba had been so delved in his own thoughts he had forgotten about everything else. After what seemed like forever, Aoba finally spoke. His voice was soft as if not wanting to disturb the night. "I didn't mean to wake you." His eyes moved from the stars to Kuro for a moment. "But thank you." He honestly didn't know why he was thanking the demon, but it felt right to do so.

As another few moments passed, Aoba leaned against Kuro, resting his head against his shoulder. "Do you think. . . Do you think any of them have been watching?" Aoba didn't feel right saying their names anymore. The thought of disgracing the angels' name was enough to get him to shy away from mentioning it. "I don't think they would. After all, it's quite obvious what they'd say. . . Honestly, I'd much rather them forget about me than stare me down disapprovingly." He sighed softly but stayed comfortable next to Kuro. He yawned, fighting the sleepiness that came with being comfortable and looked back at the stars with a shrug. "I don't think they would've approved of a single thing since I got here."

Fenrir gently touched the mirror and sighed. 'Even after all of this, you still wonder what we think of you? You are such a brave little angel and we took you for granted. I took you for granted. And if I could, I'd change that. . . I would at least want to apologize to you.' Fenrir shifted through papers, still more focused on the mirror. 'If only I paid more attention.' The doctor still felt utterly guilty for what happened but tried not to berate himself too much. Some of the angels noticed his more quiet and secluded behavior. The Overseer questioned him about it at times, but eventually decided to let him be.

- - - - -

After their brief conversation, Aoba eventually did find little peace within himself and then dozed off leaning against Kuro. He was warm, and his wing was like a comfortable blanket. For sometime, he did childishly try to fight his sleep, but he eventually gave up on that.

They simply sit there for a time, comfortable with one another's presence, the calm of the early morning air almost enough to make it seem like this is normal. As if anything about this scene fall anywhere near the “hey it could happen” end of the scale. Kuro stops thinking of the impossibility of the situation for a time, just letting the morning be what it is, the peaceful sky and gentle breeze lending themselves to the illusion. Then, soft as could be, the spell is broken and once more it is a demon, and a fallen angel, sitting on a farm house roof, and once more it becomes a scene only some insane authors could come up with, on a particularly crazy day.

“No problem, Little Mouse. . .” he murmurs in response, letting his wing tuck in a little tighter as the breeze picks up for a few seconds. He too notices the subtle changes in the creature perched on the shingles next to him. The little bits here and there that distinguish him from other angels. The rough blisters gathering on his palms and fingers that the demon will have to tend to soon when they bust and become raw. The small cuts and bruises here and there from a combination of farm work and rough demon vs angel play. The slight tremble in his wings from being worked so hard as of late. 'Then of course, there is the color. I get the feeling it will stop darkening soon. After all, there still is some holy light in there, even if his grace has been ripped from him. Little gray winged angel. . .'

Despite liking the color Kuro has more than once been struck by light pains every once in a while when he notices the angel himself looking at them. It seems that every time he spots his wings directly, when he thinks no one is looking, a flash of painful memory crosses his face and for an instant, Kuro mourns. These faint moments in time almost shatter it all, almost move everything to a place where nothing is alright, where all of this is exposed for the lie it is. However, then. . . .Aoba will smile. 'That smile, that beautiful expression, that light filled face. A blinding light that stings my eyes, but at the same time inspires me. . .' The demon sighs softly, looking to the angel with a light smile of his own as he speaks again.

“Oh, I don't know. I think you've dome some things right. I mean, you're doing as ordered and living a mortal life. Mortals live every day with demons interfering with their lives, driving them one way or another while only those of stout heart keep themselves from being completely driven about by such evil forces, and if from what I've seen going on between you and my dear older brother is any indication then you are most definitely working independent from us at least a little bit.” He revels in the willing contact, running his fingers through the angel's hair as he adds, “And I think someone is watching. Watching and caring, and worrying every moment that they see you consorting with me and mine, and begrudgingly accepting that maybe I'm a little useful, for a demon.” He chuckles at this, knowing that he's simply blowing smoke at this point, but in an effort to keep the angel happy he's willing to give hope a chance.

~*~*~*~*~

The arch angel stares at the mirror, the papers in his hands falling to the ground with a faint fluttering sound as Fenrir wonders wildly if the demon could know he's looking. Quickly he covers the mirror, deciding to study up on spying on demons and what they can sense before looking at it again. In the midst of his frantic scooping up of papers though he pauses. 'I'm being ridiculous. Even if he can sense me, that's not a bad thing. He didn't sound like he minded, and if I suddenly stop he may tell Aoba and. . .' Placing the papers carefully back on the desk eh unwraps the mirror once more, the image clearing just time time to see the demon scooping up the little fallen angel gently and hopping carefully off the roof.

~*~*~*~*~

The feeling of Aoba falling fitfully asleep against him was enough to pull a wide smile out of the demon, but as he carefully makes his way inside the somewhat triumphant look softens for an instant before once more shifting into his almost permanent expression these days, confusion. Taking him through the front door as he didn't want to try and fit though the window while carrying his delicate parcel Kuro sighs softly and holds the little angel just the little bit closer. 'I don't understand all of this, but I hope I will, soon. . .I can't be stuck like this forever least it compromise me in my undertakings' The slightly hollow feeling every once in a while has given him pause as of late, and now that it's been quite for a while and attacks are sure to happen soon, the dark haired demon feels he needs to be one top of his game.

Placing his fragile package down in it's freshly made bed Kuro tucks Aoba in and almost as an experiment leans down and kisses the angel's forehead. The sensation is familiar, the warmth somewhere along his spine, but as he pulls back he realizes there is something else, something missing, and he'll be damned if he'd not determined to figure out what it is. Now wide awake he leaves the room slowly, closing the door silently, and makes his way to the back yard. Slipping into the tall grass he pulls out a few bits of roughly cut wood an continues working on his little project. He stops once the sun begins to peek, heading inside to start breakfast. 'Well, that's coming along nicely. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's finished!' Making up some apple tarts mad from stolen apples he hums softly to himself, waiting for the other residents to show up for morning nibbles.

Aoba woke up in the comfort of his bed. He sat up, realizing he had fallen asleep on Kuro and blushed lightly. Hopefully he didn't miss any of their conversation. Aoba remembered everything up until the demon spoke of someone watching over him. Everything after was fuzzy, which he assumed was around the time he fell asleep. The fallen angel scratched his head and then climbed out of bed. Despite not having a full night's rest thanks to staying up, Aoba was pretty well rested. He cleaned up the room, although there was not much to clean. After he got dressed and cleaned himself up, he headed down the steps to the smell of apples. "Mm, smells nice." He commented and walked towards the kitchen. "Dani's not here yet?"

As soon as he spoke, the door flew open and Dani flew in at full speed, fully prepared to tackle Aoba. The fallen angel noticed in enough time to step back and Dani to smack right onto the couch causing it to slide a little. "Oof! Hey you dodged it! You never managed to dodge before!" Dani sat up but stayed on the couch, pouting a little because he didn't tackle the angel like he normally did.

Aoba blinked and watched the demon fall face first onto the couch. He then scratched his head lightly. "Oh, I don't know. I guess it was just luck. . ?" He refrained from giggling but the smile on his face was evident. He couldn't help but feel a little proud that he finally managed to dodge one of the silly demon's attacks. Over the past few days, Dani saw it fit to treat Aoba a little more relaxed compared to normally. Though Dani's definition of relaxed was casually play fighting with the angel. So for the last few days, Aoba couldn't stop being pounced on and nipped at by the demon. Thankfully, he didn't play too rough, and if he did Kuro wasn't too far away to stop him. It had only been one real incident when Dani had bit too hard on Aoba's arm and it drew blood. It involved Aoba sniffling because of the pain, Kuro healing him, and Dani whining for forgiveness. Of course, it didn't take too long for Aoba to forgive him.

The fallen angel shuffled over to Kuro and smiled up at the taller male. "Good morning Kuro. The food smells yummy." He complimented and then pulled out plates for the breakfast. No later, Aoba helped by pouring drinks for the three as well. "After we finish up with the farm, we should go out to town again. . . Can we? I've been stuck around here for the past few days- well, n- not that I mind it. It's just that- I mean, we haven't visited in awhile. . ?" He coughed lightly before grabbing what he could and setting it on the table. When everything was transferred to the table, Aoba sat down to eat breakfast. "Hmm, what if something new happened there? It wouldn't hurt to check it out?" He nibbled on his food, waiting for a response.

Aoba did want to go and see if anything was new, but he also wanted to get Kuro's mind onto something else. The demon seemed to be stuck in his thoughts as of late and Aoba was a bit concerned. He hoped nothing was wrong, but he was still a bit nervous about asking if something was wrong, not wanting to upset him or anything of the nature. Not many he knew decided to just outright tell about their feelings.

The sounds from above make Kuro smile and he quickly works to finish breakfast, adding some bacon beside each tart, extra bacon for Dani of course, and the smallest tart. 'Sounds like he's cleaning again. It's compulsive I bet. I mean, I like having a clean environment too, but this is bordering on OCD' He smirks, wondering if that is a permanent disorder for all angels before chuckling the thought away. It doesn't take long for the blue eyed male to come bounding down the stairs in his normal delightful mood. Kuro smile at him, watching the morning ritual commence with his normal mix of joy and apprehension. He is rather impressed that Aoba manages to dodge the attack for once and agrees that it may have just been luck.

“Tastes even better.” he says softly, looking down at the smaller male with his same soft smile. He lets Aoba help, making sure the right portions get on to the right plates. Humming quietly he helps transfer everything to the coffee table and takes his place on the floor. Dani immediately begins wolfing down his food, glancing at his little brother every once in a while as Aoba practically both begs and apologizes at the same time.

“If you wanna go, you should just tell him you wanna go! It's not like he'll say no. In fact he's so out of it right now, he'd prolly let me take you!” Dani says through a mouthful of bacon.

With a rueful smile Kuro looks at his brother through narrowed eyes, “Not a chance furball.” While Dani pouts over this Kuro looks to the angel with his soft smile. “You're right, we should head into town. We can't keep poaching apples and we're running low on fresh stuff. After the farm work we'll head out.” Dani flashes his teeth and for a moment the younger brother contemplates telling him he has to stay with the farm. 'After all, that's what he's here for. He's a guard dog. And I know him, he's gonna wanna eat while we're there. . . .But if I try and leave him behind he may very well start trying to eat chickens or torture the wildlife, both would be equally bad in this case' Kuro is not at all bothered by his brother's habits, in fact he shares several of them, however he knows they are not something he wants to force Aoba to get use to too quickly.

Dani smiles wide, eating up the rest of his food quickly before racing outside to tell Mama and Otto the plan. He knows they'll be very interested to know that they'll have some serious time alone. Kuro finishes a bit more slowly and works with Aoba to clean up afterward. From outside he can hear the pigs squealing and the black haired male concludes that Dani must have finished telling the cows about it and moved on to the smaller farm animals. 'I wonder if the Little Mouse is ever going to ask about him talking to the animals, or if he's just accepted that Dani is crazy and this is just a form of the madness. . .Not that it is. He really is talking to them, and he can understand them. I can't, I'm not half werewolf, but I know that he's not like the humans that talk to animals. . .'

Aoba took a bite of his food when Dani spoke. The idea of the smaller demon being his escort making him cough out of surprise. Fortunately, that wouldn't be the case. Dani shot him a look for it, only for Aoba to glance away and sip the juice he poured for himself. The fallen angel gave a delightful little smile when Kuro agreed to go into to town after they were done tending to the animals. He continued eating while curiously watching Dani scarf down his food. Aoba wondered how he was able to do that so easily. . . "Does he have a black hole in him? That's not very normal. . .Is that normal?" Aoba tilted his head, feeling the breeze as Dani took off.

"He really likes the animals. . ." The fallen angel said after he finished eating. Almost subconsciously, he grabbed the empty plates and cups that were used and want to clean them out. He didn't mind cleaning, in fact, he didn't notice how much he actually did clean up. It was just another routine for him. It didn't take long for the two of them to be out and ready for another work day. It was the same day just like every other day working on the large field. If demons weren't visiting or attacking, then the two went about the work day feeding the animals and letting them loose, then working on the field.

Today in particular, it seemed they had a lot more weeds than normal. Aoba looked at the field while Kuro approached and then scrunched up his nose. "Kuro, there's a lot more weeds today. . ." He scratched his head and looked around. "And they're everywhere!" It looked as though they'd have a lot of work before going to town. He sighed and bent down in order to pull the ones that had grown recently. Instead of the normal yellowish brown color of the weeds, these were more green and small. He didn't quite understand, it, but Aoba figured Kuro would explain.

Kuro chuckles. “No, no black hole, just a high metabolism. He'll be needing meat more often for a few days after transforming like that. . .” He sighs gently and nods. “Yeah, he can relate to them in a way that even Papa can't understand. His mother might've, but she's dead, and I haven't seen any weres of her caliber in a long time. . .” He watches the angel almost absentmindedly gather up empty dishes, his mind not really on the task or so it seems. 'Or maybe he's just gotten so used to the daily routine he's fallen into the “going through the motions” portion of things. It's not impossible, after all, there's been nothing of particular interest happening around here lately. . .' With a faint sigh he quickly helps wash all the dishes and heads out to continue the morning to-do list.

Once all the beasts are out in their field, Dani chasing a few around to tell them the news since apparently everyone simply must know their plans for the day, or at least the part Dani is excited about. Kuro swats him as he passes, telling him not to frighten them so much, but the smaller demon seems to only half hear him as he takes to running after the animals rather than flying after them. Kuro huffs and follows Aoba towards the other field on the property, his attention quickly shifting as he spots the many many little sprouts now dotting the earth beside the weeds. 'It's about time' He muses, his gaze softening at the sight of the growing things.

His attention shifts again and quickly he strides to the angel's side. Kneeling quickly beside and slightly behind him so he's partially looking over the smaller male he reaches out and stills the younger one's hand. Holding the extended hand in his own he murmurs softly, “Those little greenies aren't weeds. Those there, are sprouts.” He smiles, turning his head to look into the angel's eyes. “Congratulations Little Mouse, you've officially raised your crops from seed to seedling.” He chuckles, giving Aoba a hug from behind before sitting back on his heels to see how the youth responds.

Aoba had been just about to grab the thing growing out of the grown until Kuro stopped his hand. He looked up at him with an obvious look of confusion. "Sprouts? Oh!" His hand immediately pulled back. To think he nearly killed the plants that had not even grown yet! His look of surprise turned into one of happiness as he realized what it meant. "Oh great! All of our hard work has paid off! The seeds are finally growing!" His hands clasped together for a moment and he sighed. "What a nice feeling," He leaned a little closer to the seedlings as he continued. "To know that you've actually gotten something accomplished. It's a nice feeling." Aoba looked over at Kuro and hugged him, nearly making them both fall. "Thank you. Thank you for helping me and teaching me and, well doing all this stuff. . .for me."

There was a light blush on his face as he spoke, but Aoba merely looked back at the little seedlings and smiled. The fallen angel could go on forever about how he appreciated the demon and all the work he put in just to help him survive. He could've gone on and on about it. . . But then again, he knew couldn't. Well, in the sense that, if he did say such things, he'd accidentally tell him how he felt. It wasn't a good idea. And with the constant reminder that demons lacked hearts, Aoba knew that wouldn't work out too well. But having them around made him happy nonetheless even with his angelic abilities taken from him. Everything was fine just how it is, and there was no reason to change it. "You know, this also means, we have to make sure all the other weeds leave the little seedlings be!" The fallen angel moved to his feet and dusted himself off a little.

"And, we still have to get through the chores before we go to the town." He was pretty sure this was all they had left before they could clean up a bit and go to town. Aoba wasn't sure why he was so eager to go to town, nothing ever happened really- and the way the humans looked at him still made him nervous. Yet for some reason, he still wanted to go as if something was going to happen, and he didn't want to miss it. The fallen angel was about to go on ahead to finish his job, but paused once more. He turned fully, facing Kuro. Aoba scratched his head a bit and looked around. "Is there anything that's supposed to be done differently, now that they are growing?" Of course, once Kuro explained, he could continue on.

Meanwhile, Dani had finished chasin and telling the animals such good news and wandered over to see what his brother and the toy- well, Aoba were doing. "Oh look, you got the things to start growing finally." He huffed and crossed his arms before turning on his heel. "Magic still would've made it faster. And easier."

The delight spreading across Aoba's whole continence makes the demon smile wide. He loves seeing Aoba so happy and the sight seems to remove some of the funk he's been stuck in for so long. He hums and nods, letting out a barking laugh as the angel all but pounces on him, returning the hug with one hand as the other slips behind to keep him from falling over. Burying his face in Aoba's neck he gives it a kiss before letting him go. “No problem Little Mouse. It was my pleasure.” His gaze shifts from the angel to the sprouts. “It is a good feeling to have accomplished something like this. I've grown a few things before, but mostly in pots and flower boxes, to test the skills I learned from my books.” He tilts forward on to his knees and brushes his fingers gently over one little half unfurled leaf. “So adorable at this size. . .”

His keen eyes do not miss the blush however he decides not to tease him about it. 'He gets enough teasing from Dani these days. . .' Kuro stays crouching and looks around at the plants while he explains that they need to be careful about not picking the wrong things, and to be careful where you step. “I water every morning before sunrise, but we'll have to keep an eye on those plants that require more water, maybe water them again just as the sun is going down.” Licking his lips he looks over as he feels his brother rushing in. “And keep an eye out for bugs. If we get bugs we'll have to either start spraying pesticide, which will change the flavor a little but keep the plants safe, or we'll have to be very vigilant in keeping the bugs off ourselves. There are other means, but I would need to go over my mental records for them.”

Kuro decides not to honor the smaller demon's words with word of his own, instead scooping up a dirt clod and whipping it at the older male. When Dani whips around for a fight however Kuro says to Aoba, “Now, let's get this weeding done so we can get to town, hmm?” At the thought of going to down Dani's mouth snaps shut and instead of attacking he hops on to a fence post to call out instructions as to where the weeds are while the other two get to work. The little brother does his best to ignore this and sets to work with tempered zeal, careful not to let his energy out least it poison the lovely little sprouts.

~*~*~*~*~

The next time Fenrir has time to look at the mirror he finds them once more tending the planted area, however this time he notices them skipping some of the little growing bit. 'Oh, those must be sprouts! I wish I could zoom in with this thing. . . .' He smiles softly before tucking the mirror away. The morning had been quite harrowing with several angels coming in with injuries directly inflicted by high level demons. The strikes seem completely sporadic, and the angels fought back like hell, however with the lull a little earlier in the week they had thought the attacks abating for a while. 'But in the past two days we've had more attacks than we care to count, and in such an unpredictable pattern that the casualties on our side have been more than on theirs. . .' He shakes his head, scooping up his bag to go help out on the floor. Despite his less than hate type feelings he's been growing for those defending little Aoba, Fenrir's hatred of the race in general grows with each wound he treats.

~*~*~*~*~

Once the weeding is all done Dani lets out a whoop and begins flying around the farm in big looping circles and Kuro is tempted to whip another clod at him, however as he and Aoba make their way over tot he pump to wash up he thinks better of it. 'If he tires himself out today then I can bathe alone with Aoba tonight. . .' He smiles at the idea. The “family” baths are fun in their own way, however since Dani's arrival he's had very little time alone with the angel. A part of him is tempted to loose Dani and shoo him back to hell, but at the same time he knows he's better off with the little beast around. 'Keeping Aoba safe is the priority, and with him around there isn't much we can't handle. . .' He shudders to think of the things he can't handle, and prays that the day those come along will be a long way off.

He couldn't help but laugh lightheartedly when Kuro mentioned that the plants were adorable as sprouts. It was another thing he didn't expect from a demon. Cute baby plants. It made him smile, but he also suspected it was also Kuro's oddities rather than something many demons would think. Aoba listened carefully just as always. "Be careful and watch for bugs. Got it. Oh and also water them when it is sundown." He echoed the instructions, giving a nod to indicate his understanding. Unlike Kuro's ease with the task, Aoba moved a lot slower now that he knew he couldn't pull everything from the ground. The fallen angel wanted to be extra careful to check for bugs as well. However, that didn't stop him from watching Kuro every now and then to learn his techniques, which he tried to copy in order to move a bit faster.

Kuro managed to finish his sections first, so Aoba was more than glad to get the extra help from him. He wondered why having the animals all to himself would be such an exciting idea for Dani, considering a lot of them were still pretty scared of him. The fallen angel didn't think too much of it, trusting Dani not to do anything mischievous. And, he was well aware of his demonic energy and how it could affect the animals, especially the younger ones so Aoba was sure he'd be fine. It wasn't like they hadn't left him alone before. Though, he realized if Dani was going with them, then the animals would be alone. . . Well, they wouldn't be gone too long hopefully. The weeding took some time, but they finished it in a reasonable time nonetheless. He watched as Dani looped and twirled in the sky, watching with slight interest. That demon had to be one of the oddest he had met- which meant oddest out of three. He still wasn't sure whether to think Homura was odder than Kuro yet. . .

"Ready to go!" Aoba nodded when they were all finished, and were 100% sure of everything, which was mainly Aoba double checking everything to be absolutely sure. Their trip to town was less than quiet and uneventful with Dani, but they slipped into town unnoticed. Aoba walked out of the alley and then looked around. There seemed to be a lot more people out today than normal, and that was saying something for the small town. It made Aoba subconsciously move closer to Kuro. He was much more familiar with the demon, more than the humans around the town. "So, get stuff to restock the kitchen, right?" Aoba looked up at Kuro when he spoke. Though, even though he asked, the fallen angel was already making his way towards the store they had gone to before. It was hard to forget where it was, so Aoba took the lead, even if he was walking a tad bit slow. Dani on the otjer hand didn't want to follow them around. He wanted to wander the town himself. After all, who knew when he'd get the chance again.

Chuckling at the angel's enthusiasm Kuro follows close behind him as the move to a good take-off point. 'Well, this should be something “different” at the very least. I really hope Dani knows better than to feed while we're there, because I know he must be getting hungry, but it's mid morning, and Aoba. .. .I don't want him seeing that. I know he's rather accepting of our so called “oddities” but something like feeding while he's around. . .' Kuro looks to the angel, then towards town, and he knows that, soon enough, he too will have to take a night trip into town. . .

Scooping up the smaller male he takes off, the cloak falling into place around them, and after a moment Dani follows suit. So excited to be going somewhere Dani flies around, over, and under the other two, showing off that he's far more maneuverable. 'Well, he's done a lot more flying and fighting than I have, so of course he is, though right now I'm not trying, and I have a delicate package' With this thought he gives his burden a little squeeze and locks his eyes forward. Dani notices being ignored by his little brother and instead comes in close and taps Aoba every so often, showing off how good a flier he is by never forcing Kuro to change his fight path while doing this.

'I wish I could carry the t- Aoba. He doesn't look that heavy, and I've picked him up before, it wouldn't be that hard. I could even revert so I'm not smaller than him' Dani pouts quietly to himself as they land, shaking off the cloak on all but his wings, tucking those in tight so they don't bump into anything. He is use to this however since, even in hell, he hardly ever puts them away.

Kuro's head perks up as he spots more people on the streets than usual and he smiles a little as he feels Aoba scootch in close. He nods in reply to the question and begins following the angel. 'I wonder what's going on today. It can't be a festival or anything because that would be held on this main road here so people going through town would see it. . .Maybe it's the mayor's birthday or something. . .' The people indeed seem in a celebratory mood as they walk around laughing and calling out to one another. A few even seem to have already dipped into the the party ale and sound a little tipsy. However his attention is caught but something more worrisome than a few drunk humans. As Dani begins wandering off his little brother snags his sleeve and pulls him in close. Dani squeaks in protest and a few people look at Kuro a little more harshly than usual, seeing the motion as abusive to the “poor boy”.

“What what!? I haven't eve-” Dani whines, but Kuro interrupts him.

“I know, you haven't done anything yet, I just want to warn you that if anyone turns up dead mid day in a town this small while us new “Weirdos” are visiting, you could get us in big trouble, and I would not be very happy about that.” He hisses this as softly as he can, twitching his finger so the collar tightens slightly to put an edge on his point. Dani pouts openly about this new bit of info, knowing that his day is not going to go the way he wants it to now that he can't recharge. He doesn't promise anything but as Kuro lets him go he decides that getting them kicked off the farm would suck before wandering off through the crowd.

Kuro quickly returns to Aoba's side, smiling warmly down at the angel as they make their way into the supermarket. Once inside the cool air rushing across his still sweaty skin and he lets out a sigh, shivering slightly. The people inside seem much more subdued than those outside, except for the occasional group of teens and twenty something year olds who are checking out with soda and beer respectively. “Maybe the local school won some sort of competition or accomplished something amazing or something. . .” Kuro murmurs softly to Aoba, taking a guess at what's up with the town today.

It was interesting to watch Dani fly around them. He seemed so excited with childlike happiness and it made Aoba smile. What he found most amusing was how Dani continuously tapped him for attention when he had looked up Kuro or looked ahead to see if the town was approaching. "Oh, cool Dani. . ." Aoba mused, seeing how easily he managed maneuvering and flying. The compliment made Dani grin and continue flying about. "He's so adorable when he wants to be." The comment wasn't directed towards anyone, but it was aloud. Dani didn't hear it, but if Kuro was paying attention he would have.

As they walked through the town, Aoba eyed all the cheery people, wondering why there seemed to be so many out at the time. To be such a somber town, they had also seemed pretty chipper as well. Being such a small town, everyone practically knew enough about the other to simply have a friendly conversation. Of course, as an angel, he was happy to see them happy, but as a resident he still thought humans were peculiar. Some of them gave the familiar odd glances and turning the other way, while others simply gave polite smiles and continued moving. He had didn't even notice Kuro's disappearance while he was walking the same familiar path to the market. As he walked past a young couple sharing a moment of embrace, he bumped into Kuro as he slid back by his side. "Hm? Oh." The fallen angel simply smiled back at Kuro before following him into the supermarket.

It was much cooler and much quieter when they walked in, however, Aoba looked on the opposite side of Kuro and then behind them. "Hey. . . Dani disappeared?" Aoba scratched his head but shrugged. Kuro wasn't upset so he wouldn't worry about it. Instead, he tried to figure out what was so important about the day. "Maybe." That was all he managed before a trio of girls passed the two. It wasn't hard hearing them whisper, "Oh, he's cute." Aoba turned to look back, but they were already walking out the door giggling. The fallen angel chose to assume they were talking about Kuro, to spare himself from embarrassment.

"So. . . What exactly are we to get? You know, we should really start making lists. I used to do inventory on occasions for Doctor Fenrir. I'd make a list of supplies he had or things he needed. It helped keep things organized for the staff." As Aoba spoke, he had been intently skimming an aisle, reading off different colorful boxes of cereal. He looked up at the sign that read 'Breakfast Foods' before continuing to read through them. It had been one of the very few times the fallen angel managed to speak about his former life without feeling a pain of guilt and sadness. It could have been due to the lack of focus or even because he had gotten over it, however it wasn't clear and Aoba had already moved on down the aisle. "Hmm, do you think Dani will be okay by himself? It is pretty crowded today."

Kuro chuckles as once more the sharp eyed teens of the town whisper comments about his little angel and shrugs slightly. “It's hard to make a list when we're not even sure what you like yet.” He looks over the sugary concoctions lining the aisles. “As for the stuff in this section, anything that's good for you has little flavor, and anything flavorful is not so good for you. But, stuff like this is okay once in a while. It's suitable for a quick and easy breakfast if I don't wake up early enough, or am not around.” He adds that part a little tentatively, wondering if Aoba will have anything to say about that idea. Glancing back towards the front doors he spots a few people racing past the door and he lets out a faint sigh. “Dani, should be fine. I talked to him, told him to behave himself. But, just to be safe, we should finding him when we're done here. Make sure he's keeping his nose clean.” Looking back at the sugar and grain packed munchies Kuro spots one of his favorite of the unhealthy concoctions and snatches up a box. “Mmmm, Captain Crunch, original.” He makes a funny slurping noise before showing the box to Aoba. “Most tastiness.” ~*~*~*~*~ Dani is keeping his nose clean, for the most part. A few shiny eyes here to earn a candy from an elderly couple, a couple pouts there to get a free hotdog-on-a-stick form a kindly vendor there. _'Kids always get the best stuff'_ He muses, downing the processed meat in a few quick bites. He sticks his tongue, because while it's meat, it's over processed, and in his opinion, over cooked. _'Kurotama makes better met. If I have to have it cooked, at least he leaves it looking like meat'_ An actual dog comes up to sniff at Dani and for a moment he contemplates eating it to cleanse his palette, but after a few seconds he simply snaps at the beast, making it's flee, dragging it's owner halfway down the street before he's able to pull it to a stop. Giggling at the sight he ignores the stares he gets and heads towards the center of the commotion. He doesn't really pat attention to the point of the gathering, but as he moves through the crowd he notes that there are a lot more people in this town than he thought. Truthfully a lot of the people in town today are from the nearby town, but Dani has no way of knowing this. Instead he assumes they all live in the houses packed in like sardines. The image makes him giggle again before a loud cheer makes him cover his ears. With a soft growl he makes his way back out of the crown and towards main street, wanting to get a little distance before the crowd decides to try and blow his eardrums again. ~*~*~*~*~ The arch angel himself was not able to hold back a smile at the demon's description of breakfast cereals. He recalls that originally they were meant to be a healthy start to the day, but once people realized how so much grain in the morning actually affected your body they industry basically began gearing themselves towards the lazy and the sweet seekers. Shaking his head Fenrir lets out a sigh. “Humans. . . .”

Aoba paused in his examining and laughed a little. "I guess you're right. I should probably figure that out." He smiled and put a hand on his chin. "Well, so far, I've liked all the things you've made. If that helps. And you wake up earlier than me all the time. But I don't think you should have to make food all the time. . . Once I learn how, I can do it." Aoba looked up once again and smiled. "I mean, you don't have to spend *every minute* of your time at the farm you know. I don't think it'd be very fair for you." He didn't want Kuro to feel like he was bound to his side at all times. Dani made it clear that he didn't like being tied down, so maybe Kuro felt the same way sometimes. Maybe he just kept it to himself. As the fallen angel looked the cereal over, he smiled and nodded. "And we can always have quick and easy food. I don't mind at all." He took the box and then looked over at Kuro again. "I do think Dani would mind though. He likes. . . A lot of meats. We should probably get some for him and you. . . And me of course." He looked at the small hand basket he grabbed and made a face. "We may need another, larger basket." The fallen angel went back towards the entrance, grabbing one of the baskets. He paused as he saw people cheering and celebrating. Noticing the similar shirts they had on, he realized one said 'LaCrosse Champions since '94'. "Hm. . . So it's a sports celebration. . ." "You could call it a celebration. It's more like pre-game excitement. The LaCrosse championship is tonight. Everyone here and the town over are getting ready. You must be new around here if you didn't know that." Startled by the sudden response, Aoba whirled around to see one of the younger workers smiling at him. "Yeah, it's big around here. They show it on the local channel and everything- oh, sorry did I scare you?" Aoba refrained from running off like a scared child and mentally sighed. "Uh, n-no. I'm fine. And thank you for that. I am new around here. . ." The male seemed to give a slightly closer inspection to the fallen angel and then grinned. "Hey, I remember you. The last time, I was a bagger but- heh, but I guess that's not important." He refrained from continuing his rambles in fear of embarrassment. Aoba didn't have time to mention that he did remember the male from before, asking if they wanted paper or plastic because he then pulled a cart next to him. "I'm assuming you needed this?" "Oh, thank you, um, James." Aoba smiled politely and pushed the cart off. The worker blinked and once more fumbled over a 'you're welcome' as he walked off. "Got it." Aoba called over when he returned to Kuro's side. "Oh, apparently there's a LaCrosse championship game tonight. It's a really big deal and the town over is here too. The nice employee, James, told me." He pointed James out as they were walking away before nodding. "They said it comes on TV too. . . But, I don't really know what a lot of things are around here. I don't know, I think some of the younger angels play sports just because. Not so much. . . *watching TV*." He shrugged and simply continued on with their grocery shopping. As they did, Aoba continuously mentioned that it might have been a bad idea to get a large amount of things, considering they had to carry it all back home. But, what they had seemed to be enough for them and the two were getting their items bagged. "Now, all we have to do is find Dani and then we can go home. But how are we going to find him in the huge crowd. . ?" He glanced out the window, only seeing unfamiliar faces. Oddly, he spotted one face who seemed to be staring directly at him. Though, when he blinked, the face had disappeared. *Must be seeing things. . .* Aoba brushed it off and proceeded to help Kuro.

Kuro isn't sure whether to feel happy or nervous that Aoba seems to have no problem with him not being around. By how wording the demon is sure there is more to his thoughts than what he said aloud, but as he tucks his favorite cereal int the basket along with what they've grabbed thus far he vows to not go digging for answers just yet. 'I'm not sure quite yet is I'm ready to start leaving him on his own for very long, and if pressing the matter might make him insist I leave every once in a while so he can prove he can take care of himself' Glancing after the angel as he wanders off his teeth begin worrying his bottom lips. 'There hasn't been an attack in a while, and I've had this feeling in my gut that one isn't too far off, so I don't want him out of sight until at least I can confirm this feeling's validity. . .I know Dani would rather die than give up his “toy” but at this point I think he's starting to change a little. He may be even more possessive now, and leaving him alone. . .Not to mention the priest. . . .' “Haaaahhhhhh!” he groans softly to himself, ruffling his hair with both hands. “No point to this!” he hisses, dropping his hands to his side. His hair looks like he went through a wind storm but he doesn't care. A few girls passing with their boyfriends, laden down with drinks, have to be nudged along as they seem to find the look quite appealing. ~*~*~*~*~*~ Finally figuring out how to zoom out a bit Fenrir catches sight of Kuro attacking his head and stares for a long moment wondering what drove the demon to do such a thing. “Well, that was. . .Odd. . .” he murmurs before turning his attention on to Aoba, the one with whom he actually has some real interest. His eyes narrow slightly as the obviously interested young store employee engages the angel in conversation. His eyes flick to Kuro, who has also noticed what's going on and is now watching the two like a hawk. Not for the first time Fenrir feels both curious and disgusted as he thinks that, just maybe, Kuro actually has feeling for the little angel. 'It's bad enough that he's constantly tainting him, but to actually violate and corrupt him. . . .' ~*~*~*~*~*~ Kuro holds back a growl threatening to rumble out as the angel's natural charm enchants the young man, Aoba none the wiser. He responds to what Aoba has to say with a simple nod, his eyes locked on James until he catches the youth's eye and ensures that he, without a doubt, will never try anything with his angel. Once out of sight Kuro returns to smiling, continually assuring Aoba that he and Dani can carry a lot more than one would think, as long as they got plastic so it can dangle. He leaves out that he's going to make Dani carry most of it, and in not time they are ready to check out. That feeling deep in his gut surges slightly and he looks quickly around, trying to find the source, however after an instant it fades. “It won't be hard. I know how to find my brother. . .” he murmurs softly, giving James a vague nod as he loads the plastic backs on to his arms, letting Aoba carry as many as he wants as to not baby him. Once outside he begins looking around. His natural honing instincts kick in and after a moment he smiles at Aoba, nodding his head off in the direction of Dani. “He's this way!” he says cheerfully, setting out at a brisk pace. ~*~*~*~*~*~ 'This is so boooooreing!' The small demon pouts internally while spooking a few passing children who had been trying to ask him if he wanted to play. Usually he would at least have entertained the idea, but after all the hype and noise, a busyness he's not used to, he's far to irritated to deal with more little brats today. 'I already have to deal with my my own selfish little brother day in and day out, never letting have what I want, I'm not abo-' His thoughts get cut of suddenly and he lets out an almighty shriek. The feeling of a hand running down one of his wings sends waves of fear and disgust through the demon and he whips around to see who dares touch him like that. His now glowing red eyes, nearly lit with his violet flames, land on a drunken middle aged man, the murder in his gaze lost on the inebriated fellow. Almost everyone nearby turn to look, wondering where that sound came from, and the drunk himself simply stares at Dani bleary eyed. “Thers' lik' sum weird leather there. I fel' it.” he slurs. At these words eyes go to Dani and without really thinking beyond his outrage he screams, “How dare you touch me like that you filth piece of scum!” ~*~*~*~*~*~ Kuro and Aoba are only a block away when Dani lets out his shriek and in a flash Kuro has Aoba's hand, pulling him along until the smaller demon is in sight, then piling up the groceries around him and demanding he stay put while he goes to deal with his brother. Without waiting for a reply Kuro races off through the crowd. A lot of people seem to be yelling, most don't actually seem all that upset with Dani himself, however one set of eyes watching from the alley beside the spot where Kuro left Aoba are not resting on the commotion, they are instead resting on the angel himself. ~*~*~*~*~*~ It does not take long for Fenrir to notice those eyes watching the little angel and as he looks at the hooded figure staring at Aoba the arch angel suddenly feels as if he's been doused in an ice bath. 'Oh no. . .Oh lord, let it not be so. . . .' He can feel the urge to scream at the mirror, to call out, to race down and defend the little fallen angel himself, something, anything, to keep that demon from. . .His breath stops as it pushes off the wall it had been leaning against and begins m moving towards the oblivious angel. ~*~*~*~*~*~ Kuro meanwhile fights his way to the front of the crowd, catching Dani just in time to keep him from showing anything he shouldn't to the rather excitable crowd. From the yelling and his brother's own indignant hissing and ranting he gets the basic idea of what happened and tried to calm not only his brother, but the crowd down as well. Unfortunately, Dani will not be soothed. Thrashing and screaming he insists he's going to rip the human apart, even as many in the crowd are already on the suspected 'pedophile' like rabid dogs on a three legged cat. In all the noise and flailing, Kuro does not see the danger approaching his beloved. ~*~*~*~*~*~ Luckily for everyone involved, this so called threat is nothing more than curious, and has no intention of hurting Aoba. Instead, he's just. . . .Curious. As he approaches his little head wings flutter delightedly at the sight before him. 'It has gray wings, is that the mark of a fallen? Or does it have something to do with the company he keeps?' His eyes flick over to the crowd to make sure that the 'company' in question are still busy before moving in a little closer. His steely gray eyes are just visible over the tops of his shades and his thick black tail is carefully tucked away around his waist as to not draw attention to himself. As a so called “demon in training” this once human did not grow up with the lore and innate knowledge of the whole demon angel thing, and before he became a demon it was his curiosity that actually lead him on his path to hell. He had been to interested in finding the truth above all else, seriously not caring who got hurt in the process, and rejoicing when bodies slain by his hands lay all about him, his curiosity sated. . . .for a time. He always had to keep moving, finding out more and more, he always had to know. . .Stopping a few paces away from Aoba he can feel that tingle, that thrill of knowledge being almost in his grasp that, to him, feels better than sex. Reaching up he removes his sunglasses, setting his lips in a gentle, easygoing smile, and calls out softly, “Quite the fuss over there. I do hope your friends will be alright. . .” His voice is silky smooth, a voice he used often to make himself sound unassuming and earnest. He takes a step closer, his smile still calm and gentle. “Have. . . You been friends long?” Kyou is many things, but a fool is not one of them. He knows the angel's “Friends” are the youngest sons of Satan, and he also knows what they are ready to do to any demon seen closing I on their prize. 'If that's how they see him. That's one think I am most curious about. . .Why are they not killing this little tidbit? I know I'm not really inclined, but if history proves anything it's that fallen angels never last long. . . .' With the horrors of what the two could do to him should he spook the little angel he is careful to remain calm, and a handful of paces away, so he seems less threatening. His truly demonic features may be tucked out of sight, but he's sure that the angel still has enough in him to recognize a demon.

Aoba collected as many bags as he could without straining himself, and gave a small smile to James as they left. However, the male blinked and looked back to his work. The fallen angel didn't make a big deal out of it and the two were already out the door. In moments, Kuro had already homed in on his older brother. "Oh, very perceptive." He complimented and followed behind Kuro as they made their way towards Dani. Less than minutes later, both males could hear the sound of Dani's shriek. Aoba guessed it and could only assume that Dani of all people would make such a noise. He didn't have time to react because Kuro was already pulling him forward. "I hope he didn't hurt anyone." He commented quietly. "Wait, why are we-" Aoba looked as Kuro piled the bags around him and then hesitantly nodded as Kuro raced off. Unsure what to do while he waited for the brothers to return, Aoba decided to reorganize the pile of bags. He moved them and set them in a tight circle so he could watch them all, along with keep them out the way. He made sure the perishable items were in the more shaded area, along with making sure the fragile things were resting on top. He tried peering over the crowd, but unfortunately he was too short and too far to see. With a soft sigh, he calmly waited where he was dropped off. No one noticed him quietly waiting with bags at his side, and he was fine with that. However, in the midst of him peeking through one of the bags, his feathers ruffled a bit and a small chill went down his spine. Despite being tainted, he could still sense demons around. However his sense was dulled due to being around two demons all the time. The demon's heightened curiosity was the only thing that gave his cover away. Sensing the demon around was enough to make him quietly nervous, but hearing a sudden voice made him whirl around quickly. On instinct, Aoba quickly took a few steps back, though he couldn't just leave the food unattended. Aoba looked the demon over with wide eyes, much like a deer in headlights. However, unlike any deer, Aoba was prepared to fly out as quickly as possible. He may not have been fast, but flying away was better than nothing. Thankfully, flying around with Dani helped with that. It- he spoke again, but this time strangely enough. . . He didn't feel threatened or in need to scream out in panic. . . Which only scared him more. The only demons that weren't threatening to him were Kuro and Dani, so this had to be some kind of trap. He couldn't exactly stay calm, but he did try to stay brave. Instead of answering the question, he set aside his polite formalities to speak. ". . . What do you want?" Aoba was afraid of the answer however, and prayed that Kuro and Dani would come back soon. He puffed up a bit and frowned. "You're going to get yourself killed. You s-should go. . . I'm sure you have plenty o-of demon things you could be d-doing." Even though he tried warning the demon off, somehow it still came off as polite. . . He was going to have to work on that. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fenrir gripped the edges of the mirror in horror. 'Don't stand there! You idiot! Run! Get the demon!' Never had he thought he would suggest something like that. Why on earth did Aoba decide now of all times to attempt to stand his ground! This was more stressful than having to do surgeries. ~*~*~*~*~*~ Meanwhile, Dani continued to flail, trying to remove himself from Kuro's death grip. Others around them looked worried by how angry Dani was. They were more so confused as the drunk continued to insist that there were wings on Dani and Kuro's backs. As drunk as he was, no one believed him, but it still raised questions concerning what really happened.

Kyou can not help but find the angel particularly adorable as he whips around to face him. His delight grows at the angel speaks until at last it puffs up and seems to try and drive him politely away. He barely manages to keep hold of his peaceful smile as he murmurs, “Well aren't you the most adorable thing ever. . .” He chuckles to himself before responding to the angel. “My name is Kyouku Roku, Kyou for short. And you?” His eyes glint lightly but nothing threatening. Instead of the response he wanted, Aoba was told he was. . .adorable? Well, that was definitely new. “Kyou. . .” The angel echoed, then looked back towards the crowd. Dani and Kuro were still handling whatever happened, so Aoba was left alone. For a few moments, Aoba simply stared at him, unsure if he should just give him his name. However, for some odd reason. . .Kyou didn’t seem all that threatening. Scary, sure, but he wasn’t trying to be. “. . . I’m,” Again, he thought over that decision before standing up a little straighter. “Aoba.” 'Yes, yes, quite adorable. . . .' “Aoba hmmm? Quaint little name you have there. . .” His smiles stays in place and he takes a step closer, looking towards the commotion. He adopts a slightly pained look. “I know I am in danger here, but, some things. . .” He looks back to Aoba with an interested expression. “Are worth the risk.” He holds up his hands, showing he means no harm. “I'm not going to hurt you, nor do I see to take you away from your gallant protectors. I'm just. . . .Curious. . . .That's all.” ~*~*~*~*~ The towns folk begin dragging the drunk man off but Dani's anger has now shifted to Kuro. He hisses wildly and attacks the taller male leaving Kuro no choice but to try and subdue him, and unfortunately in his current state the younger brother is too afraid of snipping his wings off on accident to use his collar. So instead the two devolve into a wrestling match. The fallen angel adopted a confused expression as Kyou spoke. Why would anyone be insane enough to take such a risk? “Curious about what?” Now, Aoba was curious- if only to figure out why Kyou was curious. There was nothing the angel could offer him, and there certainly wasn’t anything of interest Aoba could tell either. The step closer made him tense again, however he quite nervously stood his ground. They still had food to take home, and he couldn’t just leave it. “I hope you know that, um, can’t give you anything. . .If you’re curious about me.” Who knows, Kyou could have been curious about the demon brothers. 'I love that look, oh so much. . .Makes me think of me at a younger age. . . .' “Why about you fallen one! You are quite the rarity. You've been on earth for. . .How long now?” His little head wings flutter gently beneath his hood. ’Of course. . .That is a rarity after all.’ Aoba sighed and rubbed his arm as if it were hurt. “I don’t actually know. . . If I’m not mistaken it’s been a couple of weeks.” He looked over at his graying wings as if to confirm his guess. “Yeah, a couple of weeks.” The fallen angel caught sight of the small movement under his hood, and once more gave a curious look, however he didn’t question it, still unsure of whether to trust him. He nods gently, noting the glace a the sides of his head. 'I still can't make them sit still when I'm excited. . .' He opens his hands, holding them palm upwards. “You can give me more than you think, and without betraying either God or your knights. All I seek, is knowledge.” Slowly he reaches up and pulls back his hood just far enough to reveal his headwings to the little angel. “I'm just a trainee after all, I have no agenda beyond the one I had in life just yet.” He pulls his hood back forward and nods towards the combating demons kicking up a healthy sized dust cloud. “They could crush me in an instant. I can't even create portals myself yet. I am. . . .Quite at your mercy once they are done fighting.” His eyes widen slightly making himself look quite pathetic. “I just. . . .Like knowing things. . .” Mumbling more to himself, Aoba adds his own input. “Well, I wouldn’t be standing here if I hadn’t betrayed Him already. . .” His hands crossed, but he did listen, oddly enough (to him at least), relaxing some. Kyou seemed pretty honest about his wishes, and he didn’t seem like he wanted to attack him either. The sight of the wings did peak his interest, causing Aoba to lean forward and look a bit closer. However once he hid them, Aoba stood back again. As Kyou continued, the realization that he was pretty much in between Kyou’s life and death made his eyes widen in surprise. Not only did he not want that sort of responsibility, but the look the demon gave him managed to soften him- just as Dani’s cute looks always did. There was a small sigh, before Aoba scratched his head. “Well. . . what do you want to know?” From above Fenrir is on the verge of passing out, the persistent knocking at his door going completely unnoticed as he stares into the mirror, his nose bare centimeters from the surface. He doesn't even have enough breath to hiss that Aoba needs to pull his head out of the clouds and call over the protector demon now, before it's too late. ~*~*~*~*~ Casting his eyes once more at the dust cloud, now filled with yelp and yips, he sighs softly, speaking quietly. “Oh, I am sure you thought you were doing the right thing. After all, angels are all so good, I am sure it was just a mistake. . .” His gaze shifts over to the angel, looking for any indication about what Aoba thinks of his assessment before clapping in delight and moving another step closer so the space between them is only a few paces. “Oh thank you, you are too kind.” He smiles warmly. “First off, how old are you? Are those wings normal sized for one of your side and age? How were you judged? Do you have a liaison? Do you hope to returns one day?” Now that Aoba has agreed to answer his questions Kyou finds them tumbling out faster than he can think, his eyes dancing with joy. Aoba’s eyes narrowed for a bit when Kyou sided with him about his wrongdoings. It seemed a bit suspicious, but the moment faded as Kyou clapped. Again, the demon moved closer. Aoba wasn’t sure if he was comfortable with having Kyou come any closer, but considering he didn’t feel the urgency to take off Aoba didn’t move away. Surprisingly, in mere seconds, question after question was fired at him. At first, Aoba shied away from them, before giving a soft, nervous smile. “Um. . . You’re going to have to slow down. . . I can’t answer questions that fast.” A small laugh escaped him as he mulled over the questions that were raised. “A lesion? Why would I have a lesion?” That one stuck out the most to him. Then, Aoba looked at his wings, even stretching one out a bit. “I’m kind of small. . .but they’re average sized yes. As for my age?” Aoba blinked and ran fingers through his hair. The question made him actually pause and think. No one really ever asked him that question. “I’m. . .probably older than you that’s for sure.” It was the best he could come up with at the moment. “Once I figure out exactly, I’ll let you know.” Aoba couldn’t help the small laugh. Once more, he pondered the questions that he had been asked, only to come to two that made his smile fade. Remembering his judgement, Aoba rubbed his shoulder as his wings recoiled at the thought of being tossed to earth. “It. . . It was a trial. Well, it was really a bunch of people staring at me while one person said my crimes.” Remembering it all saddened his demeanor some, but he continued. “Afterwards, there was a judge and. . .well long story short they took my powers and dropped me down on Earth. Quite literally actually.” ’It was pretty painful. . .’ Towards the last question, Aoba looked at the sky. “I don’t think I’m allowed to go back. I’m pretty sure they won’t let me. Not after this.” Aoba turned his head to the chaos to refer to what he was talking about. Though he never actually gave his own opinion towards the question, still unsure of it himself. 'Ah, so you do have a mind in there' he thinks happily as he sees the suspicion glinting in the smaller male's eyes[/i] “Yes, of course, of course, please forgive my rudeness” he says placatingly, bowing slightly. He clasps his hands hopefully in front of him, his intense eyes locked on the smaller male. He is careful to remain still, seeing that his sudden burst of questions has done little to endear the angel to him. However as the questions slowly get their answers he can feel the thrill inside him grow with every passing moment. “A liaison, here on earth to get you settled.” he explains quietly, not wanting to interrupt Aoba's flow. He listens, his face calm, but on the inside his body building up happily at the fount of new information. He can't hold back a chuckle about the angel not knowing his own age but nods understandingly. “That would be wonderful, that you. . .” he murmurs softly, still trying to be careful about messing up the angel's responses. When it comes to the trial Kyouku has to bite his lip from adding on several more questions about it, not the least of which about how he makes it sound like he was unable to defend himself. 'Even humans are allowed to do that. . .' he muses, but he can tell the question is hard for the angel so he holds his tongue. Not out of actual concern for the small feathered one but from his years of practice at doing precisely this. He can recognize when pushing a point will have the opposite effect to what he wants. He did however comment about the falling to earth. “When they mean fallen, I guess they really mean it. . .That must have hurt. . .” 'And left a huge crater. . .I wonder if I'll be able to examine it. . . .' His gaze follows that of the angels for a moment before returning to Aoba's face. “Awww,” he says softly. “I doubt there's anything a sweet little thing like you could do that's truly unforgivable if that God up there is anything like the way they tell it. . .” He looks towards the scuffle. “Even hanging out with the sons of Satan. . .” ~*~*~*~*~ For their part the scuffle between the brothers has moved from all out brawl to a more subdued hissing and snapping, most of the locals have either wandered off, freaked out by the weirdness, or have taken up cheering in a slightly inebriated battle chant. Kuro can feel a faint niggle in the back of his mind, telling him something is wrong, but as Aoba has not called out for help, and is still where he left him, the youngest son is more concerned with taming his brother back into a manageable state then bothering with whatever is pestering him. Aoba quieted to listen to his responses and then followed them up with his own. “Oh, you meant a home here. Yes, I was given a home.” He nods and looks in the direction of it. “I was given a really nice farm actually.” Aoba said with a nod before once more rubbing the back of his head. “Mhm. I didn’t really believe they meant it literally either.” His gaze went back to Kyou with a curious expression. He wondered why he was so set on taking Aoba’s side of the matter. Normally, demons would have probably laughed or teased, right? Well, little did it matter. Aoba merely shook his head. “I don’t know. . . As you said, and as everyone made clear, fallen angels are a rarity.” He didn’t bring up what he had actually done in order to get in trouble because he was sure that if Kuro didn’t want to tell Dani, he probably didn’t want to tell a stranger either. As it grew quiet, Aoba looked at Kyou rather shyly. “So, any other questions?” The demon rolls his eyes. 'So not what I meant, but that just goes to show the education of angel in language isn't as high a priority. Still useful information' Determining to ask later about the liaison thing, perhaps explaining what he meant, Kyouku listens quietly, his trap like mind locking away each little tidbit, including the shifts in mood, the gestures, the eye movements. Every little thing gives him clues about the angel, and every little bit thrills him more and more. He adopts a sympathetic expression, the idea of falling so far actually making his own head ache a bit. At the angel's question he looks down at his hands, smiling to himself. “Yes, yes, rare indeed.” he murmurs to himself before looking back at Aoba. “Why yes, I have man. . . .Many questions. I am a very curious man after all. . . .” He smiles softly, shifting from one foot to the other. “I don't mean you any harm, I promise, I just like knowing things that others do not, and while they,” he gestures to Kuro and Dani, both of whom seem to be calming down, “have all the time in the world to get to know you, and as the sons of Satan, and born demons, they will always know more than I. . . .” His gaze once more becomes a little pathetic. “I only have so long to learn. . .” ~*~*~*~*~ Finally, the two brothers enter a stand-off, each one standing ridged and staring across the five foot gap between them, their bodies tense and ready for action. However, in the minute moment of still they both finally sense the foreboding presence off in the direction of an angel and without hesitation they break out of their stares and dart through the crowd towards the two figures engaged in a perfectly peaceable conversation. Kuro's body is thrumming with energy. Had he a heart, it would be beating furiously. 'I can't believe I didn't notice it before! How could I let it get so close?!' He pauses a step away from the demon, tugging Dani's leash to make sure he didn't transform in front of the crowd or anything. His glare is cold enough to wither flowers, and Kyou freezes, his body seeming to shrink in on itself as he stares up into that terrifying stare, his eyes opened wide in fear. Dani feels the tug and manages to restrain his temper, coming between Aoba and the offending demon, his hiss escalating to a growl deeper sounding than one could imagine coming out of such a small body. Kyou does his best not to scamper off, knowing not only would it do no good, but that if he did he would look guilty of doing something nefarious when really, he hasn't done anything wrong. He in no way stands his ground however and after the initial shock he lowers himself carefully to his knees, keeping his eyes on Kuro who looks ready to take him behind the building and ripping his head off. He does however spare a single glance at Aoba, catching the angel's eyes just long enough to give him a pleading look before looking back up at the murderous demon above him.

Kyou once more reassured that Aoba is safe, and after some time, the fallen angel started to actually believe him. The looks Kyou had been giving him easily softened the angel's heart. "Well, I don't mind- um, you learning about me I suppose. I don't think you can do anything with the information." This made him think to be careful about what he said. Aoba didn't want to say anything the demon could use as a weapon of some sort. "Besides knowing of course. And it is good to know some things." He gave a gentle smile. However that smile faded when the rush of demonic energy sent a cold chill down his spine. His first instinct was to cower away, however the sense of familiarity made him stay in his place. It only took moments for Kuro and Dani to be between Kyou and him. For a moment, Aoba looked down guilty as if he did something wrong as well- only to spot the pleading look he was given. The thoughts of holding a life in his hands reoccured, and the fallen angel's heart nearly leapt out of his chest. "K-Kuro wait!" Thankfully, being in public restrained the two demons from outright killing Kyou. If they had been on the farm, the brothers wouldn't have hesitated to kill the demon. And Aoba felt that Kyou knew this too. "Kuro!" He called out again, managing to push past Dani in order to get in between Kyou and Kuro. His wings extended some, in order to block the newer demon from their grasp, and probably obscuring Kyou's view a bit. "Wait. . . Please?" He gave a wide eyed gaze before glancing back at Kyou. "Kyou, he's. . .friendly." The fallen angel nodded before continuing. "He doesn't want to hurt me. He was just curious is all. He wants to know more about how it- well I do things. . . And- And things about angels." Aoba looked pleadingly for Kuro to understand. If he could get Kuro to understand, Kuro could keep Dani at bay. Aoba looked over at Kyou and gave a friendly smile before once more looking at Kuro. "I- I trust him. He can't hurt you- you two are much stronger than him- and he won't hurt me. We've been talking for a few minutes while you two were, um, busy." His hands, that had been placed out in front of him to stop Kuro from moving forward had dropped to his sides. He hooked his fingers behind his back, but somehow managed to keep his blue eyes on the demon without looking away. He really hoped they'd listen. The last thing he needed was an innocent life being killed because of him not speaking up. Though he wasn't exactly sure how innocent he could say Kyou was. He flinched ever so slightly when Dani growled again, obviously not caring whether the demon was friendly or not. To him, demons weren't friendly without motives, and this demon- turned or not, was the same as the rest. "Come on Kuro. . . I could kill him easy. He was too close and he could've hurt him." Dani's death glare never left where Kyou sat, however Aoba's wings got in the way at some point. "He could have, but he didn't." Aoba defended softly and watched Dani as he prepared to walk forward and drag Kyou behind the building.

Fury races through him and indeed Kuro is ready to rip the young demon limb from limb. How dare he come so close to Aoba! He's made it very clear that no demon is allowed to interfere with the fallen angel, the aura of the demons he killed giving off that message loud and clear from Aoba's charm bracelet. 'You will know my wrath little demon. I won't even give Dani a chance with this one. Coming up to him in public so I can't smite you on the spot And. . . .And. . . .' His vicious thoughts are interrupted by the sound of Aoba's voice. It takes him a moment however for the words themselves to register.

For his part Dani stands there stunned, turning completely around to stare at the fallen angel. “Are you nuts?! He's a fricken demon! He could have, wait, wha-?” Aoba races pat him before he can stop him unless he wanted to hurt the angel and use his magic. The smaller demon races up to stand behind his little brother and a little off to the side, his eyes wide, his mouth open. 'I can't believe he's defending this demon!'

Kuro can feel his feeling swell. He's not really sure what they all are at this point but as he watches Aoba move between him and the offending demon, gray wings obscuring his vision, hands pressed to his chest to keep him from his quarry, he knows the predominant one is a demon's natural jealousy. 'He's defending him!? After what all the other demons have tried to do to him, and how long it took for him to trust me, this guy here has a few minutes conversation with him and he, he trusts him!? I, what? Why. . . Why Aoba? What has he done to earn your trust? In what way is he better than me and how did he take you away from me so quickly. . .' He knows that final thought is inaccurate, but as Aoba smiles at the kneeling male and begs for his life the youngest son of Satan can feel his confusion and sadness build. Somehow, he feels that he's failed horribly.

Dani can sense the conflict in his little brother and a growl once more rumbles loudly from his lips. He feels no conflict whatsoever.

"Come on Kuro. . . I could kill him easy. He was too close and he could've hurt him."

Nodding vaguely Kuro stares, getting glimpses of the demon beyond Aoba's wings every so often. He hears both Dani's and Aoba's words and in his mind a grand battle begins between them.

~*~*~*~*~

Even though he has relaxed some now that Kuro and Dani are back near little Aoba Fenrir is all but screaming at the mirror at Aoba's actions. “What are you doing Aoba!? Are you crazy!? Don't let his honeyed words cloud your mind! He's a demon, he's tricking you! Can't you see it there! Oh, for the love of, gah!” He has to resist slamming down the mirror in frustration at the angel's actions. He's long advocated demon training for all angels and if he could he would use this as the perfect example of why the training is necessary.

After a moment to breath his frustrations tor to Kuro himself, his hesitation irritating the arch angel to no end. “And you! You know better that all this! You know he's just playing the little one, don't let those shiny blue eyes distract you! He's been lead down a demons path of corruption, how could you let this happen!” Fenrir is loath to admit that a small, small part of him had begin to trust Kuro. Something inside had changed ever so slightly, convincing him that the young demon meant no harm to his dear ex-medic. “Maybe. . .Maybe I was wrong about you you beast. . .” He sighs, propping up the mirror on a stack of papers and resting his chin in his hands. Now that Kuro and Dani are at least near to Aoba he's able to relax ever so slightly.

~*~*~*~*~

The elder brother, tired of Kuro's hesitation, hisses loudly and tries to move past Kuro. However the taller male's hand comes out and he blocks Dani's advance, giving him a glare that ensures he will wait, but only for a short time.

The demon in question, though his vision obscured for the most part by those fluffy gray things, spots the gesture and takes to breathing again. He pulls a warm smile the second time Aoba looks his way, though his terror is still evident in his eyes. When Aoba had rushed to his defense he was afraid that the brothers would toss him aside and apologize to the angel later, after slaughtering him of course. 'But this little angel, he seems to really hold a lot of sway over Kuro, the younger one. I wonder how he managed to wrangle such a powerful demon. . . I know it's not like he's a pet or anything, with how he's pleading, but he clearly holds some kind of power here. He's not a toy like so many demons would make of him. . .' He bites down on his tongue, his fangs drawing blood, in order to keep the new explosion of questions from tumbling from his lips. He knows it's not the time.

His feelings still in turmoil Kuro knows he needs to do something, say something. He can't just stand here forever. . . .Shaking his head he gives Dani a very firm look, nailing him on the spot before reaching out and laying a gentle hand on Aoba's shoulder and giving him a soft smile. “Let me talk to him for a moment Little Mouse.” His voice is gentle, making it clear that he doesn't intend violence on the male. Not yet at least. Kyouku swallows hard, respectfully keeping his eyes up towards where he can barely see Kuro's face.

Aoba stayed firm. He didn’t move from his place no matter how much he felt the need cower away. It was really tough, but he even managed to keep eye contact. The angel was serious. He was about to mention the fact that Dani and Kuro were demons too, and both had ample opportunity to kill him just as Kyou did. But all he could manage was a firm, steadfast look before giving a soft response of, “But he didn’t.” The angel’s wings bent slightly and he gently and quietly spoke again. “I trust you. You can trust me. I-” For the first time, he did break eye contact and look back at Kyou again before looking at Kuro. “I’m sure of it. Just. . . Trust me okay?" Something in him told him that it was okay. And it took a lot for him to believe something like that- especially if it was a demon in question.

The moment was short, but it was brutally tense. Breaking thay silence was Dani, who snapped out, causing Aoba to flinch. However he still stayed in place. Thankfully, Kuro stopped him. Aoba didn't have to worry about being shoved aside in order for the demon to maul him. He couldn't help but shudder at the thought. Before Aoba could plead with Kuro once more, he finally spoke up. His somewhat firm gaze turned into surprise and then a smile. Kuro's look was honest, and as he mentioned, he trusted Kuro. Aoba's wing folded quickly and tucked to his back, causing a breeze behind him. "Thank you." He whispered before giving Kuro a quick hug and moving next to his second guardian.

Out of instinct, Dani stood in front of him, continuing to protect Aoba. This new demon had one chance and Dani was hoping he'd make the wrong move- only so Dani could get his claws at him. Aoba swallowed his small fear and tapped Dani's shoulder gently. When Dani's attention snapped to him, Aoba's wings folded a little tighter. "I- uhm, do you think..." Aoba cleared his throat and pointed to the bags. "Could you help me carry these please? It's the food for us, or well me, and it's really heavy...Though I'm sure it should be no problem for you." He didn't quite realize it, but Aoba had definitely learned that in order to appeal to Dani he could compliment something he did to boost his ego.

Dani had stared at Aoba for a moment as he stumbled over words. He was doing that weird thing again...being shy or something. Eventually he'd figure out what was wrong with the weird angel. His eyes finally flicked over to the bags and he straightened up. "Huh, of course I can carry them! You're right, they aren't a problem at all." What made the angel even bother to think that it would be!? Still, in between Aoba and the demon, which Aoba appealed to him and stayed by his side looking away from Kyou, Dani went about grabbing the bags. If it was food for Aoba it must've been important. Couldn't have the angel dying because of starvation. And he needed to be healthy- not to be a toy. Dani had to remind himself of that a few times before he had to face Kuro's wrath again.

"Thank you Dani." Aoba gave a genuine smile as Dani effortlessly began to grab bags. The fallen angel had to admit, he did carry a lot more than expected. Dani looked at him and gave a simple nod, checking to make sure he didn't accidentally break anything- however all of the items Aoba knew were light and could break easily were in his hands, and that had only been three bags. Now, it was just them waiting for Kyou's judgement. Thinking of it as a judgement made his mind flicker to his own judgement. . . But Aoba sighed and pushed the thought aside in order to wait quietly.

The hug was enough to at least begin reassuring the demon that his dear Little Mouse had not been stolen from him. After all, he was the only one who got hug. Not even Dani has gotten a hug so far. He knows that once Dani stops spooking the poor dear he will likely get hugs too, but for now, they are something reserved for the youngest son only, and he takes comfort in that fact. When at last Aoba moves past him, occupying himself with Dani and the groceries, Kuro lets out a soft hiss. His eyes never left the kneeling demon and at the hiss he seems to fold even further into himself. His eyes remain high though. He does not challenge the spawn of Satan, however he refuses to flee. . . .Just yet. Kuro wants words with him, so he will stay and have words, even if the conversation is very one sided.

Grabbing Kyouku by his scruff, the demon letting out a little yelp at the motion, Kuro moves them a little ways away from the road so he doesn't have to worry as much about being overheard. Kyou stumbles to his feet just long enough to half stumble half hobble along with the powerful demon before once more falling back to his knees so he is in a subservient position. His eyes snap shut and he bows his head as Kuro roughly yanks back his hood, revealing his rather droopy looking headwings. 'Looks to be really young hear. Just out of training. What the hell does a newbie think he will gain by pissing off the boss' sons?!' Once he's satisfied he pulls the hood back forward just as roughly and lets out an angry huff.

For his part Kyouku remains carefully submissive, the training of his “childhood” fresh in his mind, reminding him constantly that demons more powerful than yourself can crush you like a bug and will if you're not very careful. However after the inspection his eyes once more go up to lock on Kuro's chin, letting the youngest son know that he's not backing off, even if this will earn him some rebuke. Kuro watches him for a full minute before at last asking the most pressing question on his mind. His voice is low and menacing, but true to his word it carries no threat of violence in it. “What do you want with him?”

The question is not unexpected, but despite the lack of promised pain in Kuro's voice he still finds his throat sticking in fear and has to swallow a few times before he can answer. “My lord, I s-simply wish t-to ask him questions. He's a rarity, and I l-like learning th-things others d-don't know.” His voice warbles but he manages to get his words out without stalling. His eyes flicker up, letting Kuro see the truth of what he's saying, before dropping back to the standing one's chin.

For the most part Kuro is a bit surprised, though a part of him quickly places the kind of demon on his knees before him. He's heard of demons like this, ones that are obsessed with learning, even on to their own demise. However, the idea that one is here, in front of him, and for all intents and purposes, being kindly and polite, has him a little baffled. This feeling does not show, his eyes remaining fierce and firm, but he takes a moment to process his thoughts before asking another question. “And what do you intend to do with this information?”

Another expected question Kyou manages to get his reply out a little quicker. “This is for my own benefit and enjoyment,” He swallows hard as the word “enjoyment” pulls a growl out of the demon above him, but he presses on. “and I promise you that I in no way intend to ever share what I learn from the fallen one.” once more he shows his truthfulness.

Kuro listens quietly, accepting the truths as they come, knowing that no low level demon like this could pull a lie in front of him. Even as the youngest, he is the son of the father of all lies. No untruth gets past a child of Satan. Still reeling a bit from all this happening at once however Kuro decides to give himself a little time. Reaching down he grasps the front of the male's shirt and hauls him up to eye level, forcing Kyou to to his tippy toes as he's forced to look straight into those fierce eyes glaring at him.

For a long moment he fears he's about to be slaughtered but after several heartbeats Kuro finally say, “Leave. Approach me first next time, and I will render my judgment then.” His voice grows harsher as he adds on, “And breath a word about him to anyone and I will know, and I will make you into a pretty little present for Aoba that you won't survive.” Kyouku swallows hard, nodding frantically before letting out another yelp as hes tossed several feet back, landing hard on his rump. He whines softly but recovers quickly, looking fearfully at Kuro and silently counting his blessings. He survived and he'll have a chance to perhaps be given access to the rarest of rares for more questions. Pressing his luck a little he looks towards Aoba and Dani, hoping to at least meet the fallen's eye one last time before he flees off to lick his wounds.

Kuro had pulled him far enough away from the other two that Aoba with his average hearing would be unable to overhear the conversation. Dani however heard it all and is a mix of furious and disbelieving. He voices this in the form of muttering to himself in a low hiss but nothing telligible enough for the angel to understand.

Once Kyou is gone far enough for Kuro to feel safe the dark haired male makes his way back to the other two, his brows knit in deep contemplation. Before Dani can lay into him he gives his older brother a look, warning him against it. Dani barely manages to bite his tongue as Kuro gathers up the rest of the bags before looking to Aoba. He simply stares for a long moment, an unreadable expression on his face. So many thoughts, so much uncertainly, so many things that still need answers, and absolutely no will to actually seek the answers from those innocent lips, that bright, gentle face too sweet to bother with such dark contemplations right now. So, instead, he lets out a long sigh and offers the angel a smile and motions towards the nearby alley that would serve as a good takeoff point.
