Actually, it's using Markdown formatting.    If you do 2 or more spaces (I always do 4 to be safe) at the end of a line and press enter

    Like    
    this

then you'll get a line break.

Also, the special formatting only works if you've double-spaced your line, i.e. numbered and unordered lists..
