The little ones are as easily dispatched as any animal. The only thing that makes them threatening is that they can eat literally anything, and quickly.

The big ones are immune to conventional weapons simply because they consume the projectile before it gets a chance to hit them.

As a whole, the species sort of straddles the line between being physical beings and energy beings; sort of both, not quite either.
