Alika was the first to sit up in the hospital bed, Falcomon draped over his legs as she softly cooed in her sleep, just as she usually did. With a soft touch, he laid a hand on her feathered tuft of an ear and scratched lightly, making her leg kick out. He surveyed his surroundings as Faye's weak kicking became squirming and finally consciousness. He was sitting upon a bed in a small, grey room that he recognised immediately as some sort of medical facility, but different. The environment was warped and strangely lifeless, putting his mind into a slow spiral of unease. Faye flipped on to her belly and hooted happily as he looked back down to her. "Fiiiiiinally, you wake up! I thought you conked your noggin' or something!" She giggled as she stood to her feet and strutted on the bed to stand directly in front of him, setting to work on brushing off his face with her feathers and occasionally clacking her beak.

Alika looked on, as if in a trance, as she preened and groomed him. "Why didn't you wake me up, or at least TRY to wake me up?" She tilted her head nearly 90 degrees before hopping off. "Well you looked so peaceful and serene that I thought I'd let you sleep and stand guard." Her voice was chirpy and cheerful as usual, until she continued with a smaller, slightly embarrassed tone, "And I also might have fallen asleep too." Faye took a moment to scratch her face before pulling Alika from the bed in a hurry, chirping and squawking in excitement as he rose and stretched out his limbs to rid himself of the feelings of fatigue.

"Well now that you ARE awake, I can give you this back!" She reached into her little vest to pull out a strange black and purple device that registered in Alika's mind as a digivice. He had seen some pictures before but not much more than that. He could only stare down at it as he was pulled by the hand, out into the hall by the happy-go-lucky Falcomon. The words she spoke were flying over his head by the time they exited the room, but what he did hear sounded a lot like '-other people here! Digimon too!'

It took him a moment to snap from his trance and look up from his new digivice. Maybe these other people would know some things about all this. He merely followed behind Falcomon as she noisily went about grabbing someone else's attention.
