Or, Marcus is one of the up and coming dudebros at Beacon before his incident, so some popular gal goes with the status quo (she just wants the fame) And tries to get with him. After learning it was a terrible mistake, she decida to be uber fuck and cheats on him like a whole lot. And, when she fondly decides to break up with him, he goes and gets his leg dismembered and now if she does, not only will she ruin her reputation but she'll also be outcasting herself cause who the hell breaks up with a dude right after he loses a leg. So she stays with him out of pity and because she's still selfishly looking after her own hide and boom, you have a kind of arranged marriage deal, just with out the arranged and marriage part.
