Pip turned towards Cery's and nodded. Lily smiled. "He likes you too." Pip was designed to protect little girls from nightmares after all. That's what it said on his packaging. Lily made an 'o' with her mouth, as if realizing something.

"Don't you think  we need a shield, Pip?" she said, looking at the group. Something to cover her and someone else while they retreated would be good if she needed to run away. The bear nodded and silently plodded towards the nearest abandoned car.
