Scarlett: Scarlett made a show of rolling her eyes as she slowly lifted his legs, shifted them a bit to the side and dropped them off the table. After beginning to listen to him, she sighed a little and switched off, fixing him with a speculative gaze. He looked good, like he had been working out or something - there was still those dark shadows under his eyes though, informing her that he still seemed to be a heavy drinker. That was possibly another reason she left Elijah: he was the sweetest sober but when he was drunk, particularly on whiskey, he became vicious. He never hit her or anything because she would have broke his neck but she could always see an anger bubbling under the surface. "If you think you're going to use me for your own personal game, like the idiots behind that screen, then you have another thing coming, Eli. I'm not helping anyone here, especially with getting to my father, and I assure you, no past love of mine will give you any advantage. Now, how about you scurry on back to your friends and pray that Ruby doesn't send a real meta down here." She gave him a sweet smirk which faded to a resentful yet dulled look as she sat back and stared at him. She wondered what things would have been like if she stayed with him. Would they both be in the same mess today? Then again, if she did stay with him, it would have only prolonged the inevitable. The sex was great, Eli was a nice guy but at the end of the day, they equally hated each other's presence as much as they loved it. --- Ruby: She must have slept for at least an hour or two but eventually, she found herself waking up, suffering from nightmares that had been singed into her mind. Once she had showered and dressed, she moved to the large armoury that she could enter from her bedroom, cutting out the need to move through her workshop where Mark was probably standing guard. Once she had her Phoenix suit on, she decided it was best to keep the reaper mask on, just in case her target did catch sight of her. Ruby had a direct exit from there which allowed her to move up to the garage where her latest projects had been stored. Once she was mounted up and the bike had connected to her suit's system, she was ready to go. For this, she allowed her bright, blond hair to flow free as she used her powers to drive the beast to live. It gave off a soft roar that was quickly followed by a deafening one as the bay-doors opened and Ruby blasted out. Her hair flew behind her in the wind and the familiar hum of complicated technology under her made life feel pretty damn good in that moment. Within ten minutes, she had reached LA and once she had accessed it through a poorly-guarded road, she followed a direct path to where she knew Adam would be - cleaning up the fight at the RRT's safehouse. Once she had established a good view-point from the top of an opposing building, she carefully watched him. It was weird but there was an unmistakable stirring in her stomach as she stared at him, watching him take down one of Isabella's horrid creations. Then he and the others seemed to disappear within a matter of minutes and Ruby's thoughts were cut short. Signing softly, she turned to go and lea be before she felt a tingling down along the nape of her neck. Closing her eyes, she tuned in and felt the faint but very real presence of a machine watching her. It wasn't on the ground - it was very definitely in the air. Opening her eyes, she used the system's HUD to scan the sky for the craft which she now worked out to be some sort of fight jet. Unfortunately, her eyes couldn't do the job so she closed them, drawing in nearby energy to scan the sky above her. Then she saw it, wit h the weird third-eye she has for technology. Her eyes flicked back open, following the flight-path of the jet that suddenly revealed itself from behind a cloud. Sighing, she gave a small flick of her hand and the craft suddenly released the rockets stored under its wings. --- Forward Operations Base: "Sir, I have sight of the target now. Maintaining altitude and keeping a clear line of sight. Can we ugh... get a confirmation on the target's identity?" It was surprising just how much detail the camera could pick up. The acting commander studied the woman up on the screen who suddenly turned directly towards the camera, studying it intently. "Commander... is she looking at us?" The young pilot questioned, receiving no answer as the commander frowned - what was she doing? "Commander! The missiles are firing, I repeat, the missiles are firing! I have no control over the plane anymore." He seemed to pause for a second before a second voice cut over the line - his navigator, sitting behind him. "Sir... they're aimed at the forward operations base! Danger close!" The commander suddenly was alert, trying to rally his staff out of the collection of tents before the missiles wiped them out.
