Complex and interesting story lines are great, but I've been playing Grandia recently and I've developed a muse for the classics. Something simple and straight-forward. Easy to pick up and run with. This doesn't mean I'll skimp on creativity. Just the opposite. I made it an Eastern/Western fantasy blend because I wanted the room to add whatever the hell I feel like adding and making something that is truly my own (or our own if I were to find an interested party).
Some quick rules and stuff before I go on.
1) I have no writing triggers. It's all fair game with me.
2) I'm casual level. I have bursts of advanced-level content, but my consistent zone is mid to high casual. I actually don't mind the occasional one-liner because, sometimes, that's all that the post calls for. Note that I did say 'occasional'.
3) I'm big on communication and inclusion of the other writer. Questions, comments, concerns or ideas should be made known to me. I like them. Really!
4) Kind of like a 3.5. This is also a world-building project so don't skimp on adding to lore, races, factions, technology, or even coming up with your own stuff outright. That's why I'm here -- to have someone else share this experience with me!
5) If neither of these plots interest you, feel free to tweak them a bit or suggest new ones.
6) Please have no life time to RP. I'd like to see this thing through until the end and that can't happen if either of us are gone often. I'll definitely let you know if something's come up, or if I want to drop the RP altogether. I'd appreciate the same respect in return.
In Gaia, the most famous tale is the one of the Lightsworn Sword. It it said that it lies deep within the heart of Gaia, in a temple sealed by grand mages. This sword is one of awesome power. The legend says that whosoever finds this sword and calls forth the spirits of the grand mages will be granted extraordinary abilities. Power beyond their wildest dreams! They will become something of a god!
That is the prophecy. That someday soon, the Lightsworn Sword will be found. However, two futures lie before Gaia. One where the one who finds the sword is good and pure of heart, becoming the fabled Hero of Light. He will launch Gaia into a golden age of peace and prosperity for all. He will use his new-found power to vanquish the evil ones and free Gaia from the grip of the tainted ones for 1,000 years. But should the seeker of the sword be corrupt and villainous, he shall be known as the Dreaded One, and he shall single-handedly put an end to those who fight for justice, and plunge the world into an eternal saga of darkness and misery. The world as everyone knows it? Gone. No more.
Many good men and women have been lost or have fallen on their quest to find the sword. Those who fight for justice seek it to bring an end to the age of evil, and the dark ones seek it to tighten their grip on Gaia. Which prophecy will come to pass? The golden age of the Hero of Light, or the despair and doom of the Dreaded One's reign? Gaia is at a crossroads, and it is time for its mind to be made up. One of the prophecies will come to pass. For the sake of the world, pray that the Hero of Light finds the Lightsworn Sword first.
I'll admit that this one isn't as fleshed out. Basically, our characters live in the year 999 A.D. and end up travelling through time to stop an evil time traveller from messing everything up. I'll see if I can't get something up later but yeah. I won't lie to you and act like this is 100% ready to go. Won't be doing anyone any favours by lying.
If you're interested in either of these (or have an idea of your own) you may post in this thread or PM me. While I don't mind using a forum to RP, I'd prefer to use email. Don't worry though! I'll try to get you to do an email RP but if you can't for whatever reason I won't hold it against you, and we CAN definitely move forward and RP on a forum! That is all for now!
