Seriously though, I don't see the problem here. People can build and shape their countries as they please. If we all have a similar level of technology it makes sense considering we are near each other and trade is, or should be, quite common. Honestly the idea of a few nations being extremely under developed while countries near it are extremely developed would make no sense. 
I would say try and base your countries off of real world counter parts. Try and come up with something similar to your nation and build upon that. This doesn't seem that hard.[/s]
Sorry about that weird paragraph I'm really really tired. To sum it up, keep it as it is. Let people make their countries as they please.
