Tex waved a hand dismissively towards Zazoria. "It's all good. I can understand self-preservation." He said. He suddenly paused and span on a heel to face him. "Say, Zazzleman, you haven't happened upon a staff, have you? Long, stick-like, fashioned of dark oak, cool diamond-shaped head with pearl paneling?" He scratched his chin as he thought of more ways to describe it. "Did I say it was stick-like?" His ears suddenly pricked up as he heard the thudding of boots approaching them from down the path. He raised a finger. "Hold that thought." 

When he turned back around, his eyes somewhat widened at the mass of guards that had some how closed in upon them without Tex's notice. "Oh." He said meekly. He cleared his throat and ventured a slight wave. "Hello there, mister, uh... guard. Are you sure you've got the -right- Reptil? Or are you just harassing any Reptil you see?" He folded his arms and huffed. "That'd not only be a nuisance, but also a tad racist, it would. Areopolis is a vast, multicultural city, and thrives on its diversity, I feel! Intolerance would be like spitting in the punch."
