Tex opened and closed his mouth, at a loss for words as he got a firm talking to from the guard. He shrunk closer and closer to the ground with each shouted word. His bold-faced lies seemingly hadn't pulled him through this time, and now he was lost. His ears pricked up with keen interest as they continued, however. He not so subtly slipped over to their side of the road to stand by the commander, abandoning his acquaintances. "Oh? You've heard I'm an impressive wizard, huh? Sure am. Help deal with a Wryn? Sure can!" He enthusiastically responded, preening all the while. "Why, I could deal with five Wryns. I think. Maybe if they were heavily inebriated." Zazroia and Zeetah had entirely left the perfidious cat's attention as he focused on impressing the guards. "I've got a Wryn skull mounted on my mantlepiece back home, come to think of it. Though it had many skulls. Maybe it was a Hydra. Oh, Hydras are plenty scary as well though, aren't they?" As Zazoria expressed his interest in helping the guards on their mission also, Tex briefly scowled, then gave a bright grin, as if his irritated expression was never there in the first place. "Oh, hello again friend! I'd be -glad- to have you aboard!" He said, his enthusiasm not at all faded. He grabbed one of the Reptil's paws with both of his own and shook it briskly. "He's a pretty good wizard himself, y'know?" He called back over his shoulder to the guards. "I'm sure he could also help slay this beast."
