Sorry Apollo, lol. I figured a pirate ship showing up like a boss would really exemplify the dangers of the open, unprotected outer space. 

The traders just do not have enough ships to patrol  the highways and the huge region that they technically own.

The traders have strong stationary scanners but they only reach so far.
