Originally known as mark771 "excavator" these mining constructs were quickly drafted in to great war, armed, battle tested and then thrown out again. Being simply too erratic and cumbersome to work as weapon platforms, "excavators" quickly devolved into field hospitals and barracks for the more capable units.
