Marian settled down across from him and looked down at his plate compared to hers. Well, she really caught him off guard didn’t she? When he said he could handle him, she tilted her head slightly. Really? Was he really willing to face Edward; even Robert couldn’t be that arrogant… or maybe it wasn’t arrogance, maybe it was standing up for what he was feeling could be right. Maybe… maybe. Upon his mention of being the one to talk, she did a head bob in slight agreement. He was a jerk, there was no doubt about that but he seemed to almost be… well sorry. Her gaze moved from her plate to him when he said he wasn’t like Edward and said it with a force of meaning which caused her to raise her eyebrows at him. Her eyebrows dropped slightly as he said that he would leave instead of her. Was he serious? Had he actually changed… “Okay…” She said softly in a small bit of a surprise. As he came to her side of the table and leaned down, she wasn’t sure what was happening and nearly froze in her seat, his hot breath so close to her cheek that she felt her face flush completely red and held onto her breath. As he talked to her against her ear she felt her body shiver and she pressed her lips together firmly, doing her best not to make a weird noise or jerk at the sudden feeling of his hot breath against her soft skin. When he finally left she let out her breath she had been holding. Holy crap that was a lot in a small amount of time. She shivered in her seat. It had been a long time since someone had been that close to her that wasn’t the creepy individual that was Edward Taylor. Most men wouldn’t come near her, thinking she belonged to Edward, like she was stamped as his property which was far from the truth. It took a while for her to finish her meal… Robert was the man to give her some form of attention aside from Edward and it was surprising… okay, maybe there was one other guy; Robin Hood. When Marian finished eating she snooped around a little more, discovering nothing new and that no one had any information about why Robert was brought back, but she did find him in his old office going through files and clicking through a computer. He was so focused he probably didn’t notice the blonde walking by… but he did notice a knock on his door. “Mister Locksley. I have a pizza delivery for you.” The young man in the pizza shirt placed a small pepperoni pizza on the table and waved his hand. “Someone paid for it already. They said you didn’t eat and should have some food. It was pre-paid. Have a good day.” With that the young pizza guy left. Marian sat at her desk watching the young pizza man come by the window looking into her office. He stopped at her door and she got up, walking to him to sign the slip and give him a cash tip. “Thank you.” She said with a smile, “Have a great day.” She said with a grin as he left and she went back to her desk. Time rolled by and the end of the day seemed like it was taking forever. The blonde ran her fingers through her hair as she reached forward and checked her phone to see that her father had texted her to check on her. With that she answered him back, letting him know that she was okay and she stayed in for lunch but if she wanted to go out for dinner he’d just have to deal with it. He wasn’t happy about it but he did agree that he couldn’t keep his daughter on lock-down.
