ARRAN WHITE After paying their bill and leaving the rapidly empting deli, Arran and Kyle split from the others and started walking home. “Urghh… I forgot to get the meat for dinner” Arran groaned, “Aunt Cass is going to kill me, I was supposed to be home early so as to cook.” She was partly mad she had forgotten but mostly she wanted to try and distract Kyle from her incident earlier; he hadn’t said anything in front of the others, but now they were alone there was going to be hell to pay. But instead of asking questions about earlier Kyle surprised her “You missed your appointment you know.” Arran blinked in surprise, “huh?” Kyle turned, walking backwards so as to be able to walk and talk, “You missed your appointment. Your very important appointment” Arran thought about it, “Very important appointment. Uhhhh…… what?” Kyle frowned; “You never told me; I set the alarm after checking your calendar, really; I was surprised that you even had something on there.” “You checked my calendar?” Arran grimaced, “why?” “You never remember anything, unless it’s music, so I thought it would be best to make sure I have an alarm for you as well. Only you had about three things on your calendar one of which was my birthday, one was mum’s, and the other unnamed.” Kyle spun back around so he was walking next to her. They walked for a little while; tuning a few corners, and hiking up and down hills, till they finally reached Kyle’s street. Wading through the overgrown grass that overlapped the path they climbed a set of worn concrete steps to a solid door with blue paint peeling to reveal a vibrant red, or maybe the red was peeling to show the blue, but really it didn’t matter, the majority of the door being blue.
