There are KeyGuy's Terrans in the MWG, and KeyGuy's japanese-ish like Abh in the Andromeda. However, there are a couple races that are essentially slightly different humans, possibly taken by an ancient race and placed elsewhere. You can go with that, me thinks.

Time travel, I think, wouldn't be allowed, and the humans from MWG Terrans, I don't think, are any sort of Templars.

As for time, no idea. It's in the future by several centuries, probably.
