Mentioned it in the OOC already but I figured I'd specify it here as well. 

On the topic of Magic: Magic does not exist within the setting beyond the seemingly magical properties of Elan.

On the topic of non-human races: I am personally inclined to say humans only but I'm also willing to deliberate on the issue. I think that a potential compromise is that the North could be solely human while some form of other race could exist in the south. My main worry about including other races is having way too many different races can make the setting seem kinda cluttered so if there are non-humans I would personally want them limited to only one or two races.
