Spotting Dick as he came driving up in his car Summer smiled and waved, walking down to meet him. “Nice car. Makes my bicycle look like a joke.” She said as he took her books and she slid into the passenger’s seat. However the question made her fidget slightly. “It was… alright. I don’t think the other girls like me very much… they kept giving me really angry glares in gym… though that may have been because I wasn’t very good at volleyball.” She shrugged slightly; she’d always gotten along better with boys anyway. Girls seemed to be drawn to drama, or else were always very keen to create some where none was needed. “But I enjoyed it. I was thinking of signing up for some kind of afterschool club thing, apparently they look good on your collage application but I figured it would be a good way to make more friends.” Whether she’d actually be successful in that endeavour or not was still up for debate, but she thought maybe if she found something she was good at people might like her because of it. “I don’t suppose Gotham Academy has a circus troupe?” She laughed. “Maybe a gymnastics team or something like that? I mean it’s been a while since I’ve done gymnastics specifically… but it’s kind of like a bike, you never really forget do you?”

"I don't think there's a school circus or gymnastics, Though if they had a trapeze club I think I could still do it. You're right it's one of those things you never do get over. Maybe we could go have some fun at a gymnast training facility just to see what all we can still do," he said as he drove into the parking lot of the Gotham Diner. "This place has awesome burgers, and good shakes, after we eat I'll take ya home I don't want your mother to worry about you being out to late, especially on the first day of school.

“Well I’m sure I’ll find something at this school I can do…” She said with a sigh. She’d have to look the school’s extracurricular activities. Summer scoffed, the slightest hint of annoyance at the mention of her mother being worried. “She won’t. I doubt she’ll even be home. I’ve only been back here for a week or so… but she’s almost never home. She only works a few hours a day, but the rest of the time she’s out socialising. I guess I can’t blame her; she hasn’t had to be a mum for years now so she would have had to find something to do all day.” She shrugged slightly as they entered the diner. She liked the feel of the place, it almost felt like walking back in time, back to when milk bars were the place all the kids hung out after school instead heading home and playing on the internet. “So there’s really no rush for me to get home. Means I have to start my homework sooner.” Summer said with a laugh as she followed Dick over to a table and glanced at the menu. They’d agreed on burgers and shakes but it never hurt to see what kinds were on offer. “Anything you’d recommend?” She asked, looking back over to Dick.

"You never did like doing your homework, I always wanted to just get it done and over with. Wow I still can't believe your here." Dick was still excited that he had an old friend there with him. "Summer, there burgers are amazing, they have the best onion rings, and their milkshakes are to die for. I come here every once in awhile, but always feel so guilty afterwards I work out for like two hours. I guess that's my dad's fault, he always made us stay in peak physical condition."

“I can’t believe I ran into you.” Summer replied with a small smile. “I mean I knew you were in Gotham… but the chance we’d end up in the same school at the same time…” Looking over the menu as Dick spoke she smiled slightly, giggling just a little. “Well I, for one, am going to feel no guilt whatsoever about eating this. My mum wants me to have a ‘normal’ year and do ‘normal teenage stuff’ and if going to a diner and stuffing my face with greasy junk food isn’t a normal teenage thing then I don’t know what is. That being said… you can order for me okay? I’m sure your know which burgers are better than me. But I want a vanilla shake.” She added the last part with a cheeky smile, like she was a five year old getting caught doing something she wasn’t supposed to.
