You might not even have to create a completely new NPC if nobody wants it.  If all we're looking for is a pilot for while the crew is on a ground mission, we could pull a mass effect and say we give access to the ship's navigational systems over to the AI and program it with some sense of preservation for itself and the crew.  I don't think it'd be too far a stretch to say Drew might be able to do that with his research into cybernetics, especially with an AI that's had individual thought programmed into it already on the crew - and especially if she has access to any of her father's data. 

's up to you, though.  Might be a bit far-fetched.  I'll wait to finish my IC until Catharyn posts, though.  Cause if she wants to pilot, that whole idea is moot. :P
