Johnson grass. One of the most nutrient plants there is, growing faster and more nutrient than any other, but in high concentrations in the heat at a certain time of the year, the byproducts of its photosynthesis and the like produces large amounts of normally-safe chemicals, which, when eaten in too large amounts like the amount produced, kills. And when the economic stability and her own well-being relies on the animals of the ranch [i]not[/i] being dead, finding something that, at the very least, keeps it from spreading too-widespread is a serious matter. Unfortunately, even the best [and most expensive] chemical sprays, uprooting, or other techniques result in little success.
