Outwardly, David/Legacy's only ability is a superhuman body (super strength, regeneration when resting, durability, stamina, etc.) and a strong mental defense, however, his true ability - which he keeps a closely guarded secret - is the ability to absorb the full powers, skills and abilities of a person upon their death. There are restrictions to who's powers/abilities he can absorb:

[*] He must have their permission to absorb their ability prior to their deaths. This permission is valid until taken back*
[*] Must be within 3 sq.km of each other for the absorption to take place

[b]Appearance (I'll probably add a picture later):[/b] 
Short black crew-cut hair and black eyes. Though his body is imposing, standing at a good 213.57cm in height and with thick, burly muscles, in contrast he has a gentle face. Outside of critical situations, David always has a distant look about him, as if he isn't fully there. He has plenty of scars littered around his body, which is why he usually wears long sleeved shirts or windbreakers.
His costume is fairly simple looking - a navy-blue hiking jacket with black gauntlets and jogging pants. He wears a dull white mask on his face that has the reflection capacity of a mirror.

David never showed outward signs of being special. In fact, he was a fairly normal boy - the only thing special about him, according to his neighbors, was his radiant soul that shone through his personality. He was kind and always willing to help, he worked hard at what he did and was stubbornly persistent in standing up to what he believed in. David connected deeply with everyone in the village and they with him.

It was this connection that would cause disaster.

A certain villain by the name of 'Galapagos' had the power to sense 'potential' and he had been using this power to find young children and kidnap them, to mold them into his soldiers. When he happened upon David, the sheer amount of potential he felt from him was actually able to knock him out momentarily. He decided that this boy would be his masterpiece, his right-hand. Galapagos, however, found out that there was one problem: David's abilities wouldn't develop unless he those close to him died, and no one had died yet. He was as normal as could be, in terms of ability.

So, he did what any good villain did: wipe out the village he lived in, using the best known methods: fire and explosives.

David panicked, ran, tried to do something, but couldn't do anything. He was too afraid. He was too scared of dying. He wanted to live, even if he had to ignore everyone around him, but he wanted them to live as well. He couldn't decide on what to do, so instead, his body decided for him. David fell and collapsed, and lived in pain. He fully expected to die there but . . . the fact that he lived was the ultimate proof that Galapagos was successful. The power and strength of everyone that died moved into him and kept him alive. 

Right there, Galapagos moved to claim him, but his own actions led to his failure. You couldn't explode a whole village and expect it to go unnoticed. Heroes came quickly and drove him away. They found David, and the rest proceeded as you would expect. An investigation was conducted, and the facts were laid out. He was sent to an orphanage, where he would constantly brood on the life he was living.

He instinctively knew about his ability and how it worked. He knew he was only alive because they died. Whatever conclusion he reached, he decided that from thereon he would become the [i]Legacy[/i] of those that died for him.[/hider]
