<Snipped quote by Stale Pizza> Because your the only one online right now, would you suggest me bumping up the army personnel in the NZ army?
Honestly, I don't think much people really care about who's in what, and more about alternate history that fits within context and is more detailed about the important events of that nation.

This. You can figure out the numbers for your nation all you want, but since it's a character-centric RP, those numbers won't really matter IC. I have no idea what the numbers are for Britain's military, because I have no reason to ever know them. I don't even have solid numbers for my invasion of South Africa, since maybe 5 characters at most are going to be important to the story there.

New Zealand's population in 1980, according to Google, was 3,113,000. If New Zealand's military is 10% of that, then it's total military strength is 311,300. That is if New Zealand is, for whatever reason, pushing its military numbers to the max. If it's not (as is more likely), then it's probably less than that. But that depends on how much of the population you want in the military.
I'm just going to add that NZ probably cannot sustain that number. Having that many people in the military means you have to be able to pay them and arm them, and that can be expensive. New Zealand also will not realistically have the power projection to be able to send that many people over seas, which means a sizable army is pointless.

Nation: Aotearoa aka New Zealand History When the Commonwealth fell, New Zealand fell in the dark. Forgotten and alone in the big wide world, the country was pretty much left on it's own devices. Their neighbours across the ditch also seemed a bit preoccupied with their own problems to deal with their little brother. New Zealand was lonely, shoved to their own little corner in the world. After a few years in their corner, people going on with their own lives and trying to find ways to completely forget what was happening in the outside world, something change. A spark happened. There was a sudden click, and people's look and feel on things took on massive renovations. New Zealand was alone, and people are going to use that to their advantage. At the year 1941, normal everyday civilians started to argue the status of their country. Was New Zealand really a British colony anymore? The riots started, people screaming for an identity. An identity not behind a foreign culture. They wanted change. They wanted an individual culture that could develop into something more. Not to hide behind the non existent Union Jack, something that most didn't feel was appropriate anymore. With riots, come violence. They started peacefully, people holding signs and protesting in the streets. The violence came at the winter of 1942. The protesters were in Auckland, shouting at the disgrace of a government and how they should "hold their own". Two police officers, both juniors, were patrolling and stumbled over the protests. One of them, barely 19, stepped in front of the crowd and told them all to stop. It was 2 degrees outside, hardly the weather for this kind of thing. The memories were blurry and the storm brewed. Something happened that resulted in the death of 20 people. 2 of them the officers. This caused a roar in the population. The civilians blamed the government and the government blamed the civilians. Violence spread throughout the nation. People who believed in the government and people who believed in the protesters took it out in the streets, punches thrown and beer bottle smashed. The cities were utter brawls. These were the first few weeks. And then the guns came into play. Firefights, brawls, gunfire and death were the norm in the cities. The death count rose. The idiot who thought of bringing guns into the fight was certainly regretting it now. The loyalists seemed to break down, turning into a small hardcore army of guerrillas. When there was a handful of people left, the so called Civil War ended. Peace returned to New Zealand, though scarred and tense. Characters Government Prime Minister David Randen - A former soldier in the Colony Civil War, he pursued political mayhem after seeing the horrors of death and destruction involved with war. He was sympathised by many for all New Zealanders were affected, one way or another. But it wasn't this that made him the leader of modern Aotearoa. His charm, skills and political wit drove him through the ranks, and the fact that he was actually likeable was a big factor. David in renown for his genius and know how, about the political world and beyond. The outlook for next year's polls look good. Minister of Defence Fetuao Lotomau - New Zealand born Samoan and a childhood friend of David Randen, this beast of a rugby player and politician is the most interesting Minister in the government. His down to earth nature and "kick-back" demeanour has appealed to many kiwi's and is one of the few politicians most New Zealanders actually respect. He was with David Randen and was his Captain for a time before David switched to the Armoured Infantry. [i]Military[i] First Sergeant Benjamin Tark - Brave, bold, and fully Irish, this First Sergeant is respected and won his men over. Private First Class Tane Kamana - Fast mouthed and called a bit "stupid" by his superiors, this native loves imitating 1920's gangsters. Don't ask.

I am finished, and it is as big as it is glorious. There are a few leftover specks of red and green, since I modified it from the 1836 map for help with borders. All nonaffiliated countries are either white or two different shades of gray. All Third International Countries are either red, pink or salmon. (Somehow I missed the Finnish Communes, oops) Player countries are all colored differently (with the exception of Mexico, the lone Third International player country) Also, I left Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Switzerland colored. Such mistakes. In France's case it's helpful because colonies, but otherwise no. Click if you want the (revised) ginormous version: http://i.imgur.com/sy1SSYs.png
Oh, of COURSE Mexico has to be pink. Not maroon, or crimson, not even mauve, but fucking PINK. Friggin' Thailand/Siam is the only other pinkie on there, too, and they're an NPC! Clearly, this is an outrage that must be corrected. ...lol jk it's all good. Though there could be at least some distinction from the other NPC's in the ComIntern.

* Armenian irredentist twitches. * You missed a tad bit of the Armenian coast, I have some arcs going on there with the shipping industry. There's also another part of Georgia that's annexed. I can fix it later but, as you know, Armenians go batshit when their borders are misconstrued. ;P

It is a pink distinguishable from the rest of the Comintern on the revised map. Check the wiki if you like. Edit: I will see if I can give you an extra province or two, Evan.

Well not necessarily the application I had in the OP. But did you talk to Feo about what happened in Britain and stuff that collapsed the former monarchy? Because I thought we were placing that in the fifties and not the forties. You also seem to drop off a bit there towards the end. I'd like to hear more of what happened around the revolution and up through until now. Especially any regional, political aspirations to keep itself safe from perhaps the British or Asian Communism.

Siam and Burma are still aligned with China. Is this a sign I should take them in magnificent power playing action?

Could we not muddle the CHAR tab up with discussion about Ater? Do it here in OOC, I want the CHAR tab clean. I already had to ask Mahz to clean up his quote. He had all of Evan's char sheet quoted.
