Taiga couldn’t believe it when Kaelani ended up getting more hurt. He’d thought she could easily defend against Cael and then come to his aid. Still she had gotten o him before the other fallen angel, which he was grateful for. Even if having her carry him up was kind of unexpected. Luckily the power had reached ten and was transferred. “Die? Definitely don’t wanna do that. Guess it was stupid to think I could help, huh?” Taiga spoke with a slight chuckle as he looked away, trying to hide his shame for causing more harm than good, and the light blush on his face at being carried by her. It was kind of embarrassing. “But fine.” He said calmly with a small sigh. “I’ll listen to you Queen.” He added just before she started heading downwards. “H-hey! At least try to keep yourself from getting anymore hurt.” His eyes locked on her wing. How far was sher willing to go for this? It wasn’t like he even deserved it the help. But still, she seemed to have a stake in this as well. That other fallen angel. He couldn’t say he wasn’t curious about her reasons for hating and wanting so bad to kill him. How had he and the others involved have betrayed her? He’d never really tried to get to know her. Or let her know him. He didn’t even explain really why he hated fallen angels. He just made it seem like he did. No explanations whatsoever. When they hit the ground he was quick to attempt to try and follow her orders. He had just said he would listen after all. Even if only for a little while. But soon her wings folding up around him. Wha?! He couldn’t even think properly when it happened. He couldn’t react or move. And he could do was simply allow her to finish her battle. Taiga had actually remained rather quiet until the battle ended. No doubt he’d wished he could do more. Anyone would in this situation. But with the tightening of her wings he couldn’t very well do much more but bend to her whim and stay out of the way. He hated this. Sure he was safe. He FELT safe. But he didn’t like having to be protected. He’d wanted to have changed that when he became a devil. And yet, here he was. “Dammit Kaelani.” He wanted to complain about it and wanting to have helped, but he knew how stupid that was. “You let yourself get way to hurt.” He panted a bit as he knelt beside her. “You know we can’t have the Queen dying for the Pawn.” He shook his head a bit. Despite his words he was still trying to figure out why she went out of her way to come to his aid. Even if Lorenzo had ordered it, it didn’t make all that much sense to him given how he treated her all the time. Then she was going on about him leaving her there in case someone else came. “Geez. Don’t be stupid.” He said as he hoisted her up onto his back. Given he’d done little to nothing for the duration of the fight he had some energy back. He could at least carry her out of here. Besides, he could ignore his wounds which seemed so minor in comparison to her own. “There’s no way you can fight in your condition. And what the hell am I supposed to do if you die because of me?” He began moving forward refusing to leave her. And something told him she wasn’t much for struggling in her current condition. “If you’re worried about someone else showing up, I’ll just get us out of here before that happens.” He looked down as he picked up the pace. “And I’m gonna pay you back for this. The next time we’re caught up in a battle, I’ll be the one doing the protecting. “ He wasn’t trying to sound cool or anything. He took a serious blow to his pride and felt like crap about how things had turned out.
