Marilyn was fading fast. She ran, much faster now, away from the aliens; nearly tripping over her own feet multiple times. The ones that could still stand ran after her. She turned a corner, and found an open door right after the turn. She dove into it and slammed the 'close' button on the side of the panel. It slid shut completely just as the Aliens turned the corner. She was safe, for now. The Pale alien backed up against the closed door and slid down. Her breath was heavy. She slid her sword and tentacles back into their respective cuts, but trying to not bleed out was becoming taxing. It had been.... maybe a week since she'd had her proper home-planet food. The Human food offered to her here was... good. Delicious even. But it did not sate her hunger pangs. Her head hit the door behind her, sounding off in a Clank!. For the first time since she got here, she felt miserable. She couldn't do a god damn thing. It's no wonder she couldn't protect her friend... her planet... Her nose twitched as she sniffled and closed her eyes. Overtired, hungry, and a long, long way from home is what Marilyn is. It was then that a crackling sound pushed her out of her thoughts. Her eyes opened groggily, squinting at first in annoyance. Then her eyes opened wide. There, in the center of the room surrounded by electric force field, was a cluster of green crystals illuminating the room. She felt her mouth begin to water as she stood up, leaning against the wall for support. Could this be the ships power source? Then maybe... Maybe...! Marilyn felt her strength return as she ran over to the control panels in the room. Yes! The glass she had sensed, she thought it was the observation deck, but it was the observational windows surrounding this room to make sure the crystal was doing fine. She tampered with the buttons until the forcefield went down. She knew though, that it would still hurt to remove them from their respective pedestals. Regardless, she ran over to them. She took a moment to savor the preparation, how all the clusters were divided into plate sized portions all around the room. She was practically drooling as she readied her hands for the pain that would come as soon as she started digging in. She would have to work very fast, but she'd never been this hungry before. "Challenge Accepted." Marilyn was shocked harshly, but she didn't care. The crystals were swiped off the pedestals and devoured in an almost as soon as she gripped them.
