It takes someone who's read a bit of Elder Scrolls lore to realize that it's all set in the Elder Scrolls universe. The date, the locations, all of it is all Elder Scrolls. 

Who knows, maybe he will. I just don't see why you're making it needlessly complicated. Dark elf is pretty much a night elf- but no one has EVER called them night elves. I haven't even considered the name. Is it so hard to just change the age more in line to that of a Dunmer's, and change "Night" to "Dark"? The name would be unusual for a Dunmer, but there have been stranger names.
