At least no one says Kaori is a Kuroko expy but then again her "Desu no" has influenced everyone.
I actually wanted to say something, but I figured powers would inevitably overlap with Canon characters, and despite Kaori's unhealthy obsession with the resident level 5, Kuroko was not a troublemaker (she was part of Judgment desu no~ for crying out loud) so I decidedto let it drop since personalities were different enough. Touma on the other hand doesn't have much a personality (besides typical main character whatever, etc.), making it a lot easier for a character with an identical power to match just a bit too closely. If we wanted to split hairs, we could say Touma had a predominantly loli harem (at least the anime definitely gave me that uncomfortable vibe) and Tetsu's is not explicitly a loli harem. Two things about Touma that bothered me, for one: in a powers-based story, any character who can mimic/steal other's powers or negate them entirely bothers me. For two: androphobic or gynophobic characters also bother me since they usually aren't well-written. And none of that "all the girls throw themselves at him even though he's not at all interested and he can beat up all the other guys who harass the women thus making them love him even more" male-dominated, patriarchal, self-insert, power-fantasy, bullcrap. Hmm, this came out sounding angrier than I wanted. This rant is not directed towards Kale-El, it is just a result of me being tired of watching anime and being reminded over and over again that the anime industry is dominated by men.
