Does the IRC have a character limit? I've never reached it. [@Ellri]
I meant that the character limitations (200 is pretty tight) and the instantaneous feedback, in that everyone on the guild's homepage will instantly see your message, rather likens it to twitter. IRC is too, oh, I don't know. Exclusive. That's the word. IRC is too small and too unpopulated for messaging on it to have the same effect as the messages on the homepage. Also, twitter is designed for status updates, not for chat. Similarly, our interface is designed for status updates, not for chat.
People never use the system for what they are supposed to use it for.
