The monster did fall to the ground and that's when Aki would curb stomp on its head, only furthering to stain his pants red. When it stopped moving after the fourth stomp, he looked down the hallway where every zombie went down before towards the screaming student. He knew there was another set of staircases over there, but that was dangerous and stupid, so the only other hallway was the straight one they saw once they came down the stairs.
