While he was mildly irritated at Hana for not giving him his I.D. the moment she saw him at the school he wasn't actually mad. He hadn't really been trying to defend her in regards to Keigo's comment, the idiot just pissed him off. As for helping her with her mission... it was her mission and he had no interest in helping her accomplishing it, regardless if she was his friend.

The man who's name he never heard... the Shinigami who had tried to recruit him while he was a Vasto Lorde... he was high ranked. For all Nero knew the man was a Captain now. He doubted the man knew anything about Nero other then what he called himself back in Hueco Mundo but he wouldn't take any chances.

"I'm not going to help you with your mission... and when you go back I'd prefer you leave me out of your report. I may trust you for some reason... but I don't trust any of your comrades." Nero said coldly before smiling "I may not be a great cook but I'll help you as best as I can!"

First though he had to put his booze in his room which only took a second before he was following Hana to the kitchen.
