Part 3 of 4
If he were to be completely honest with himself, Sasaki was surprised that his ruse was, in fact, 'tactical fucking genius'. He'd have expected that the Judgment pack would have at least caught on to the suspicious stream of telepathic speech, but a plan going off without a hitch was not something to be unappreciated. Still, he hadn't gotten out of detention, hence his seat at the back corner of the room across from the window. The place was surprisingly lively for something that was supposed to be a detention, but that was likely the fault of the supervisor. Or perhaps everybody realized that this detention fiasco was nothing but a farce and therefore disregarded such a development. He didn't blame them; this was indeed a farce. Who gives a detention to a suspect without a single warning or attestation of truth (though to be fair, they were right in their assumption of his so-called guilt) anyway? And therefore, Sasaki found himself in the back of the room, pencil out and writing up notes in his work notebook. Flurries of acronyms, diagrams, and technical terms filled the pages, essentially making the whole text utterly hieroglyphic to anyone in the room. He didn't feel very strongly about the whole situation; it was nothing to him but a minor inconvenience at most. He looked up from his scrawlings at mention of the White Chapel Ghoul rumor. "...No, I don't believe that's it," Sasaki piped up to answer Kei, "The announcement your group missed mentioned nothing of the sort." Having reached a point where he couldn't continue his design notes without shaky arguments and hypotheses, he shut his book and placed it back within his bag. As he did so, Sasaki paused, eyes on the gruesome fairy tale book within. "..." The giant looked up from his bag and at Kotori's seat. Disheveled hair, wounds lining her exposed skin, face barely holding back anguish... All in all, the telekinetic looked like shit, and, all things considered, it was his fault that Kotori had been defeated by Sunye. Maybe once upon a time that fact would have made him proud, but now it just left a bittersweet sort of taste in his mouth. Sasaki sighed and stood up from his desk in the ass-end of the room before making his way to the troubled girl. Sasaki pulled up a chair and sat across from the sad-looking songbird. He sat silently for a few moments, fingers steepled over his mouth, before he finally spoke to the girl. "Namash- ...Ara, Kotori-chan," Sasaki began, popping open his bag once more, "You were looking for this?" He unveiled the blue Grimm Fairytales book and placed it on the center of the desk, and flashed his trademark awkward-but-scarily-unnerving, forced-looking smile. Kotori – A Caged Songbird This was all her fault. Every single literal moment of this imprisonment for not only herself, but for others was entirely her fault. Others were talking and conversing amongst themselves, and it seemed that she could finally retreat into her shroud of social invisibility. For the moment, it seemed like the most proper method for her existence. It had always been like this, as far as she could remember. Initially she would attempt to finally step into the social world, only to have something horrible happen and immediately she would be struck down. Much akin to those who wished they could fly with wings of wax, only to come crashing down time and time again. Only with her, it was simply the thought that she might one day be able to talk to others, let alone openly in public without pathetically trembling in fear. Gripping her temples with her palms, she began to think that maybe it was better if she simply gave up and faded into obscurity, perhaps that would be less painful. Someone murmured something to her about never giving up hope, and Kotori mildly smirked miserably at the thought. Never giving up hope meant believing that you might’ve had a chance in the first place. Never giving in meant that somewhere, somehow, there was a faint glimmer of a chance that beyond the valley of thorns there was a rose you could grasp. A dull thud marked her impact of her weary and exhausted head upon the desk in front of her, and she simply sat there. Wishing that she could rot away like the foul person she was beginning to believe herself to be. After all, not only did she receive detention on her first day; but she also managed to forge similar punishment for many others. Surely they too would despise her just as much as Kirima’s sibling, but she was brazen enough to put it into both words and physical action. Beyond any doubt, unkind words would likely spread throughout the academy like a wildfire through the driest grass; further desolating any possible chance that she might be able to start fresh and anew. She just wanted to be invisible again. That was better than being loathed and despised by everyone she had literally only just met. Then the screeching of a chair’s legs against the table in front of her as it moved caused her to glance up briefly. For a mere moment, her eyes widened in surprise as it was none other than the giant boy who sat in front of her. It was eerily quiet at first, leaving her wondering if the scolding she deserved from him was going to come or not. She dared not move, let alone think, as she hoped he had just sat there to be more comfortable instead of talking to her. She prayed that instead of having to deal with social interaction, she could simply hide there with her face buried in her arms. Yet despite her prayers, or perhaps even in spite of them, Sasaki spoke her name and settled something down upon the desk. A glance revealed it to be the troublesome tome that she had lost to cause all these calamitous social travesties to occur in the first place. But should she take it? No, that wouldn’t be fair. She couldn’t look him in the eye, she didn’t deserve to! “Did you like reading it?”She inquired first, her timid voice barely being audible through the arms that covered her face as she still sat face down on the desk. There was another tensed silence, and Kotori’s worry grew even further. To her, it meant that he had begun reading it, and then he even enjoyed it. Probably? Maybe? Perhaps? She could only guess. “I-If you liked it, Sasaki-san, p-please keep it. Consider i-it a request for forgiveness for what I’ve done.” Taking another sip of her tea she turned her head to the girl it looks she was beating herself over something. With a small sigh she got up and slid into the spot next to her. Nudging her shoulder a bit she motioned to the thermos cap full of tea offering it to her. "Drink problems should never be pushed unto ones self" she said as she looked at her. "I may not know the full problems with the detentions or what exactly happened to you but at times when it seems that all is lost things usually aren't" she said. "Your smile and the smiles of a ‘tomorrow’ I can’t see are whiter and whiter, like a blizzard" She pointed out once more though the fact that the line was just a modified song lyric would remain hidden. Sunye goes batshit crazy and jelly and attempted to chill Kotori's head as brain freeze which failed due to the refined capacity down, she grabbed Kotori by the collar and is on top of her, warning her to stay away from her brother. On the other hand Ria is chilling from the bickering that's happening and tells them to cut some slack because it's annoying her. Unconsciously she shattered her own clothes by freezing it so deep that it breaks. She's now naked and approached Sasaki and asked him if she could borrow his clothes. "..." Towering student sighed a loud sigh. Was he not allowed to participate in a conversation that didn't degenerate into some sort of odd occurrence? Wordlessly, Sasaki stood up, frame concealing Ria from the prying eyes of perverted students. His own front turned away was turned away from the vast majority of the class as he undid his red tie and placed it into his pocket before getting on with the slow and agonizingly awkward process of stripping in front of his underclassmen. "...Tsurara-chan. Here." Sasaki slipped out of his white shirt and hung it off of Ria's shoulders. Now he was just standing at the front of the class, half-naked before his peers. He felt dirty, like some kind of weirdo from a shitty romance film about vampires and werewolves. It didn't help that Sasaki was built rather pleasingly as a result of his normality and affiliation with Skill-Out. At least Ria didn't need his pants and underwear. Now onto the next order of business. "...Sunye, get off of Namashiya-chan," Sasaki commanded, shirtlessness contrasting with his imperative tone, "She's had enough for today." "You people need to calm down" Kishiko said as she saw the interaction between Sunye and Kotori. Sigh "so foolish we repeat the tragedy" she said once more if this keeps up it would end up her saying or something she thought to herself. Dang capacity down ruins everything she thought to herself she would at least be able to keep herself entertained a bit more if it wasn't for that. Crossing her right leg over her left she and propping up her chin with a her left hand she leaned forward "so what is the reason to this madness?" she asked letting herself be known to a wider audience. Taking a look around she noticed that a. she managed to get their attention and finally b. the uniform was appealing on the level 5 it gave her a pretty cute look. Shaking that last thought from her head she leaned forward a bit more as if imposing a great secret upon everyone before looking around and narrowing her eyes looking at Sunye in particular. "I know its been said but there is no reason to pick on a girl that already has had her fair share of abuse already." She mentioned before going back to her normal position this would not make her friends but right now she did not care. All that mattered to her was aiding someone who needed it no matter what harm comes to her. Sunye blushes, "A-Alright, onii-chan." She stays away from Kotori and goes back to her seat but before she would sit down, she strips just as Ria would do. "Onii-chan, Sunye is ready to take punishment." Blushing away. Ria thanked Sasaki but notices Sunye, in her thoughts; "This girl...." Then she approaches her. "You... your part of the cold december project aren't you?" Nonchalantly revealing information like that, such information would make everyone curious. Sunye hides behind her brother, hiding from Ria. In Ria's expression it's a thought so. "Girly Sensei, do you have any clothes?" "Yes I do... and no I won't lend you any lest a change of clothes make themselves handy..." At this point a knock on the door disrupts any further progress on this conversation. And since all the events inside the detention room so far has failed to pique the interest of Priscilla, the knock on the door was worth some attention. "Who is it and what's up?" She asked with her face and attention fully turned to the door. "It's me!" "What are you doing here Hibiki?" Priscilla immediately asked the person on the other side of the door. Although she knew what Hibiki would answer anyway. "I just... well this one was near and I figured I could probably help you watch over whoever you were watching over, and don't worry I asked permission from one of the numerous official looking people about this" "Well you could help out with one thing... your clothes... give it to me" "My what!?" One can literally feel Hibiki's surprise through the door. "You heard me..." At this point Priscilla stood up and actually went outside to come face to face with a quickly reddening Hibiki. "Just dephase yourself and leave the clothes so you don't have to go around naked..." "But... but why?" "You asked if you could help, a girl in there needs clothes because of... reasons" "Well... if it helps then it can't be helped..." A few seconds later and Priscilla entered the room again with a neatly folded full set of Kirigaoka Girls' Academy uniform complete with underwear in her hand which she places on the table... "If you still need clothes these one's on me... well it's actually on my friend... well was on my friend... ah whatever..." And with that she returns to perusing information in her books. Bang remained silent as he thought to himself, These people are weird. Nevertheless, he decided that silence was the best way to get over detention. Actually, now that he thought about it, why was he at detention anyway? It's probably because I talked with the tall milkman over there, he thought. Kind of ballsy, but I guess this is how things go. And all of a sudden, Bang started to have an internal debate about communism for no real reason.
