Jack is an expert pilot and his hands are able to dance over controls quickly, just like his mind at processing the data at hand. He also knows how to command and run a squadron of pilots both on the field and off it. Jack also has suffered at the hands of men and has earned respect due to the pain he has received. Jack’s actual fighting ability is basic, he knows how to work a basic rifle and pistol, but by no means is close to marksmen. History: Jack was born to a family of factory workers. His mother and father spent their time building aircraft for Greymont. Jack however had always been much more interested in flying the aircraft, than building them. Jack’s parents didn’t wish to limit their son and spent their entire time scrimping and saving, so that jack could go to a first and middle school. During his time at school Jack worked incredibly hard, knowing that he would have to have a scholarship to have any chance of affording a place at an aviation school. It just so happened that Jack excelled at maths and physics and when he turned 13 he was offered a low budget scholarship to the Republic Aviation Academy of Equatas. Jack had one year in the academy, if he was not in the top five percent of students then, the scholarship would end. Jack had a difficult time at the academy. Most students had bought their way in or had come from long lines of pilots and so had a head start on his training. Jack was beaten, ridiculed and mocked from the very first day by students and even some teachers. However this only steeled Jack, his parents continued to support him at home as he couldn’t afford the cost to live permanently at the academy. By the end of the first year Jack had scraped into the top five percent and was allowed another year at the academy with the same terms. This time Jack trained harder and learnt faster. He knew the tricks and knew how to shut up the bullies which did require numerous trips to the Principles Office. This year though Jack was in the top one percent of students. The academy had taken note by now and Jack’s scholarship was extended to a full course until the age of 18. The academy was easier now as Jack had proven himself to both staff and student alike. He excelled at piloting and had a knack at maintenance. At the age of 18 Jack graduated the Republic Aviation Academy of Equatas as first in his class. After that Jack was offered a place in the Greymont Pilot School, here, if he completed the course, he would go straight into the Greymont Airforce as a Shop Supervisor. During this school Jack struggled more as the pilots were thrown into real action situations. There was a number of deaths and Jack brifly had a crisi in which he doubted his desire to become a pilot. However after 3 more hard fought years he passed Pilot School and become Shop Supervisor of a small wing of fighters. Jack had a number of successful campaigns with this wing, Nicknamed ‘Worker’s Pride’, and was shooting for a position as ace pilot. However a stall in the economy meant that austerity measures were taken and Jack’s wing was put out of service in an attempt to save money. Jack was disheartened however his focus was moved as at the same time an accident in the factory where his parents worked, left both of them dead. Jack took a few years out to sort out affairs and re organise the family. Jack had an older sister who was a local teacher and so he sorted out payments on the house so that his sister, Miranda, could continue to live and work. Jack then was offered a place at his former Academy as a part time teacher. He would take struggling students and tutor them more closely to try and get them to passing grades. However when the Guns for Tools act was passed Jack was offered his pick of pilots as a ragtag answer to the Ironcoast air superiority.
