On the other hand, the DoD sent tens of thousands of body bags to Saudi Arabia, just in case things bogged down. They were, privately, ready to deal with a significant Saddam threat and gave due respect to the idea that Saddam's troops could put up a hell of a fight. Then, of course, the war went off without a hitch for the Coalition.
