Kotori & Ria - A Song Amongst the Ice Nodding softly as Sasaki accepted the book, Kotori held her composure for one as she realized that she too had her hand against his well, bare chest. Even though a book was the barrier between her touch and his. This realization caused her hand to snap back to her side as he turned to place the book upon the desk and take hold of his coat. Blinking as he turned to mention that he was supposedly an easy person to find, the shy girl awkwardly scratched the back of her neck at the very thought of it. Good humoredly, she'd respond. "For a giant, you hide very well then. I-I had t-two other people looking for you and we couldn't find you." Bowing her head in defeat at the very thought that somehow, Sasaki had unintentionally eluded them beyond all belief; it seemed quite remarkable that one of his size had accidentally avoided them, let alone if he had even tried to on purpose. Awkwardly, her toe turned upon the floor as she nervously looked up to the boy. "So...er, would you like t-" A sudden interruption came in the form of an attacker that shattered the very walls of the detention retention space. Barely in the nick of time, the odd half naked girl had covered the motley little crew of detainees in a sphere of ice. Chaos echoed outside as first the boy she had met earlier sprung from a smaller hole in the frost and bolted off. Soon afterward thankfully, Sasaki found the gumption to shatter the frigid barrier as she shuddered and cowered within it. She felt ashamed. She, a telekinetic with at least some kind mental acuteness had failed to act. While a boy with seemingly no power at all found the determination to act long before she could even think. Climbing uneasily from the jagged hole that the giant had made, Kotori landed daintily upon her feet before looking skyward towards the now bedraggled ceiling. She had to do something, she needed to act. At least two monsters were running amok and she needed to do something of actual worth. No more was she allowed to cower, no longer was she allowed to hide and hope for invisibility. Having never done it before, she seized the moment by the reins and took it. Rippling outward from her, a wave of telekinesis washed over them all from her to encompass those were trapped in the pit below. Smoothly, they were all lifted into the air with her while her hair itself seemed to lose the force of gravity that once held it imprisoned. As gently as one who held significant control over their ability, Kotori alighted the small group so that they would land easily feet first upon unbroken ground as she surveyed the damage that had been dealt. Biting her lip, the shy girl looked on with horror at the path of destruction that had been wrought. The savage wreckage of earth, the long bridge of frost that arced towards the distant metropolis. She could only offer a glance to Sasaki as she swallowed a pill of courage. "I...I'm going to go help, Kirima-san." She mumbled nervously under her breadth, keeping the formality and using his last name out of respect; even in the dire stress of the moment. Yet there was a spark of something more peculiar in her poise that hadn't been seen before. Urgency, purpose, a reason to act. Even still, she would nervously look up to him. "C-can you come with me? I'll need help." Much to her elation and even though he was short of words, a solemn nod from Sasaki made a slightly more confident smile cross her lips. Nodding to him, she took a step closer and offered him her hand. "It'll make this easier...I-I know you don't like my power, but I won't hurt you. I promise." Taking a step closer, she gently wrapped her much smaller fingertips around the boy's hand and hesitantly tightened her minuscule grip as her eyes closed for a brief moment of concentration. In a brief force of her will, both she and Sasaki were lofted off their feet and into the air as with a surge of her telekinetic prowess the two began to fly. Rocketing through the air as she retained her focus, the sight of the imposing coliseum walls caused Kotori to come to a sudden stop. Sharply changing her direction and gently landing the two atop a taller building to look down upon the murderous scene, the Telekinetic looked pathetically to Sasaki. "S-Sorry about the rough ride." Yet the horrified screams of agony and death from below sharply diverted her attention from Sasaki and down to the horrific events below. People, ordinary plain people were trapped within the madness below. So many that she couldn't even count from the fair distance. If she didn't do something, more were going to die as a result of the crossfire between two monstrosities. As powerful as Ria was, this madman seemed just as equally insane, as his machinations eviscerated some and incinerated innocent souls. It mattered not who his victims were, it only mattered that there were victims, and that blood would run red across the streets. At all costs, she needed to get those people out of there. Falling to her knees, Kotori's focus gathered itself into singular point as ascended into a meditative state. Closing her eyes and focusing, the worried state of her hastened breath slowed, her heart once fluttering with tension grew unto a state of calm. Sasaki would be able to feel it, but those in the distance could not as a telekinetic wave washed over the coliseum. Differentiating between organic and non-organic tissue. Within her mind's eye, she could isolate that which was living and that which was not; for those who lived, breathed, and felt a heartbeat held a certain energy about them. One that her power could viably feel. The number of people was absolutely monstrous. Nearly two hundred of them were trapped spectators in this maniac's game. "This...this i-is going to hurt." She whispered, thanking the Gods that she wasn't in visible range of the monster that Ria had squared off with. Sasaki still stood nearby, and nervously she reached out and held his hand. Once her grip tightened, a rippling wave of Telekinesis exploded forcefully from her central form and washed over the entirety of the coliseum. The plain everyday people who had been trapped suddenly found themselves whisked skyward in the blink of an eye, and Kotori grit her teeth as her fingertips tightened painfully about Sasaki's hand. He had helped her find the courage to act. The courage to do what needed to be done. Yet it was an absolutely massive mount of weight to bear, and a softened cry of pain shuddered from deep within her. A thin trail of blood laced down from one side of her nose as she struggled to maintain her focus despite the monstrous expense of her energy; and the bystanders were moved swiftly in varying directions to insure that they wouldn't be easily intercepted by the psychotic monster that was still beneath them all. Once all had landed and were safe quite the fair distance from the makeshift arena filled with death, Kotori managed to smile with wondrous serenity. "T-They're all s-s-s-safe. Thank y-you for y-y-your help Kirima-s-san." She weakly stated as she leaned back while she sat on her knees, completely unable to move because her exhaustion. Down below, Ria's scowl that had grown with the display of Jack's maddening cruelty sharply changed. She had felt it, the telekinetic wave that washed across the masses; and the scowl that she bore grew into an insidious grin as in the blink of an eye, the entire sudden mass of bystanders literally were swept away as if by a gust of wind. The very moment that they all escaped, Ria's hand surged skyward as she paid no heed whatsoever to the other two that had joined to try and help her. In a dazzling display of her prowess, a literal sheet of ice covered the opened top of the coliseum. It grew to the thickness of nearly a glacier as the frost crept down the walls of the coliseum. In a matter of moments, the very surroundings of the two monstrous Espers was completely encased in ice, frost and snow. Dozens of feet thick, ice surrounded the walls themselves as Ria's malicious grin seemed just as devilish as Jack's was insane. "Oh dear. Look what's happened. Now it's just you and me you stinking filth. Don't pay attention to those other two useless rats." The Icy Esper began with, not even bothering to make eye contact with the two who had tried to interfere. Not caring if Jack's abilities had hindered them or not. "If it's a game you want, I'm tired of playing by your rules. We're playing by mine." "Call it...home team advantage. You thought you had trapped me? You're wrong. You're trapped in here with me." Within the blink of an eye, spires of ice splintered and crackled along the ground as they reached to try and snake their viciously frigid veins about his legs and ankles. Reaching outwards towards Jack, Ria's frigid presence only grew even more menacing while suddenly within even his mouth, Jack would suddenly feel a drop in temperature. As he spoke, as he taunted the girl, she took advantage of the moisture in his mouth as a sudden star of razor sharp icewould rupture outward from within his jowls, seeking to literally break apart his skull from within. All the while, spires of ice continued to form in the air, as her hand closed once again and they formed instead a sphere of thick and hardy ice to surround the man. The air continued to drop to even more grave temperatures so swiftly, so abruptly, that it threatened to slow his biological functions as a few split seconds later, the very air about him would implode from the rapid changes. With him at the epicenter if he lacked the wisdom to avoid the oncoming devastation.
