Arysta took the food offered to her gratefully. "Thank you Kilugna," she said with a smile. "This will be plenty." "Thank you Kil-na," Lyra said with a big grin. "My tummy is hungry," she added, patting her stomach. Arysta took the rabbit and squirrel and got a knife to cut it into smaller pieces for Lyra. She put all of the pieces on a wooden plate. "Come and eat sweetheart," she told the toddler. "You eat too Mommy," Lyra ordered. "Mommy will eat later," Arysta told her. She had to make sure Lyra got her fill first. Lyra nodded, seeming to agree with that plan before looking outside and waving at James. "Jamzz going to eat too?" she asked worried that that might not be the case. "I'm sure he'll eat when he's hungry," Arysta assured her daughter. "It's time for you to eat now." Lyra started eating the pieces of meat carefully. The child had already learned that every bite mattered.
