Squealing in surprise as his brother crawled atop him, Skylark murmured in agreement. "I'm hungry too, Daddy!" 

Seeing Sleipnir and Skylark so raring to go made the human smile instinctively. Oh, this was what love was, wasn't it? Wanting to protect these two and make them happy. Make them smile all the time, and laugh with them. He wet his lips as they spoke of food. Though they only had a single vault, his kids needed to eat.. He took one hand in each, and squeezed reassuringly. "You two hungry? Daddy will feed you..." 

After leading them to the still, open vault, Edge told them to wait outside. He was going to fetch some canned goods near the back. He rubbed his arms. It was really cold. Finding them, Edge harrumphed in approval. The pig carcasses would be for later. However, before the human could leave the vault, it slammed shut in his face with a loud klang- seemingly all by itself. Violet eyes widened in horror, the only way to unlock it was from the outside. The can slid from his grip as he banged his palms on the metal door. "Sleipnir ! Skylark! Help daddy!" He bit his lip. How could he be so stupid? Locking himself in a freezer?? He would die, unless help came in time,

Skylark watched horrified as the door slammed shut on Daddy. Leaping into action, he tried to help by punching at the bulletproof metal. Perhaps if he was older, he could do it, but he was too weak. "Daddy!!!" He roared, trying to help. What he didn't know was that the human would freeze in just over an hour.

Meanwhile, from the chute, a boy laughed. As he spread his eat hey wings, it wasn't hard to tell what he was a hydra! He was the one responsible.
