Jasik's sword strikes, just overshooting Smaug's wing, only to strike his scaly chest. The Fire Drake's armored chest was able to protect the dragon from a fatal blow, only scraping off 1 or 2 of his scales. The dragon retaliates by swiping his massive claws at Jasik and then breathing fire at a point blank range, melting some of the gold below the elf.
