The Walk of God - Part 5
Patel's walk had always been undisturbed, no matter the circumstance, hence its divine connotation. Even the notorious Light appeared to have trouble keeping up with the creature's stroll, which wasn't too surprising. As for Cedric, he wouldn't give up for one second. Despite having an all around area of sight, Patel didn't entirely focus on the weaker leader, but whenever that cannon would flash and movement would occur, it was ready. As Wessex reacted quickly with another beam of energy, evidently stronger, one of the many vectors placed passively (just like when it was spying on the base) had simply "pulled" on one of the mechanisms integrated in the hallways, causing an energy wall exactly like the ones that cut Patel off earlier to block the beam's way and prevent access to the hallway. Meanwhile Light was preparing another nasty attack. Patel's eyes had begun to glow once more, or at least they were visible for some reason. Perhaps was it leaning forward a little? It glared deep into Light's being and concluded that she was the only true threat here. While she tried to mess around with the electronics, Solf had already tampered with it itself, causing another one of the energy force fields to appear a couple of meters in front of Patel as it was expecting some kind of electrical attack from the toon. This would cause the arm holding the mass of gas to dissolve, making the gas release all over the place, something it had forgot, but it would at least be at the other side of the field. Additionally it would also sponge the explosion that naturally ensued the release of sparks. The result would be lots of smoke, which wouldn't be too exciting. "........" The invisible hands would be replaced with the transparent, more visible ones. One would hurl forward through the shattered energy wall that suffered too much damage from the explosion. Patel took advantage of the smoke to have the palm hit Light and send her charging at the large, reinforced door at the end of the hall. The second hand would be immediately behind Patel, aiming at Cedric in hopes to catch his entire body. It wasn't going to kill him, yet. Not util it would cross the door it had sent Light hurling toward. That door would lead to the main control room of the base, Solf Patel's main objective.
Camille Mahroug - Super Star
A drop of sweat formed on Camille's temple as she had suddenly accumulated a little bit of stress from the moment. It was indeed intense, was Ariadne going to seriously kill Sebastian while he was down? She really didn't expect her speech to work, but is she saw it, it mysteriously had a halting effect on the blonde hellbent on crushing the redhead's... head. The cold female fixated Camille, and in return the underground executive felt a somewhat chilling sensation. She wasn't scared or anything, it was simply the ghostly apparition next to her that she couldn't see that had that side effect (right?). It was barely noticeable, but it gave her random goosebumps. Keeping a childish grin on her face, she really couldn't stand this wait. In just a blink of an eye she could just crush the psychopath's head ad voila. Game over. But in the end, she didn't. Did Camille's words really get to her? That kind of question, Camille would disregard and simple consider it an achievement. "You chose well, little girl! Oui oui, I knew my new shoes would be terrifying if they ended up right up your booty!" Arms crossed while still holding her umbrella, she entered an exaggerated state of confidence and superiority as she felt like she had saved the day from her interim colleague's inevitable fate. After a brief chuckle of complete smugness, she turned her head to face Owlman. Most of the acid didn't burn anymore and the rest would either wear off or coagulate in response to her rejuvenation. He was probably going to make it out alive, but just in case she pressed 'send' on her previously made text to inform everyone of her situation and prompt a possible escape plan. She turned back to face the crowd of metas, finally noticing Aya's body in a similar state as Sebby's. Was it some suicide technique maybe? As if Camille would know. "Ahem. Now that everything is nice 'n' dandy... BLONDIE!" She randomly shouted as she pointed her index finger toward the young girl in the dress, taking an over-the-top pose as she gave her a creepy and menacing look at the brutal twin. If one looked closely, they could almost see a stat shining in eye of her eyes, proof of the intensity of the message she wanted to give. "I want YOU in my Underground team! ... ImeanwearethewinningteamandIkindasavedyourfriend soooooooooooooooooooooo..." There was nothing more to say. Everything was set on the table. She made a silly reference. How could anyone react normally to this? The remainder of the sentence would be said quickly and with a weaker tone, as if it were some kind of fine print she tried to conceal from a colorful commercial.
