Well she didn’t. It made Carla angry as she sat there scared in the corner, confused and totally alone. She just wanted this nightmare to be over, all she wanted do was go home and snuggle up with Jem and read a good book. A book that could take her away from everything. A place where only happiness could take over her heart. It would be even better if Hale could be there. Only Carla knew that she couldn’t go anywhere. She was trapped in the corner, her panic and worry for her cousin made the woman use a tone that scared her. This woman thought she didn’t know Liz, she did of course she knew Liz, she had only been living with her for years. Liz may not be the nicest or even smartest of people, but she would never do something like this. Carla didn’t say anything for a while after Kim said that Carla could sleep in the rooms he woke up. Why did she stay here? For a while Carla stared angrily at the ground before she spoke without lifting her head, her hair covering her face. “Why do I have to stay here. I want to go home and I want to go home now. You can’t just keep me here.” She said this without raising her voice, yet it was calm and hateful. This was the voice that lived inside her own head, a dark and hateful creature lurking in the voids of her broken soul. She pushed the soup away, she suddenly wasn’t hungry. “I don’t want your pity, you don’t fucking know me.” She said her voice just as cold as before. “You shouldn’t have wasted your time on me, or your money. It would have just given me that push to finally end my pathetic stupid life. If what you said is true, it isn’t like I’d be missed anyways.” She finished her body no longer shaking. She had reached a calm. Almost like all her fears were gone just for a moment. When she could use just that little piece of courage left in her body, before her fears would consume her again.
