Mason Crawford

Mason remained silent following Adam's scolding; he was annoyed, this really did feel like being back at school. All he needed now was to be beat up by a bunch of bullies and-- yep, there it was. Two assholes already getting into a fight. Mason just shook his head and looked elsewhere whilst Blackmore defused the situation; he recognised one of the guys from the boat, but the other was foreign to him. Regardless, he committed both faces to memory. He wanted his time here to go as smoothly as possible, and he had every intention of not falling into the wrong crowd. Soon enough, they were lead through to the larger room and Adam explained that they were to complete some kind of physical warm-up to prepare their bodies for power training. To everyone's surprise, the room began to shift at the click of a button, with elements of the room's structure sliding around mechanically and opening up to reveal hidden compartments, from which obstacles rose. A fucking assault course? Mason cursed to himself. What was this, military bootcamp? Adam's reminder that students were not permitted to use their powers made him scoff; the idea that Mason's ability would be of any use tickled him. He sounded a siren, and the rest of the students pooled forward onto the course. Mason looked at Mr. Blackmore. "Sir," he said, getting a quick glance from the teacher who was intently watching the other students. "I don't think I'm cut out for the course. But I do yoga every day, I think my body is already warmed u--", he stopped himself dead when Adam gave him a sharp look that said 'Do The Fucking Course'. Begrudgingly, and a little terrified, Mason joined the others. Looking ahead, he saw Casper's familiar hair quite a way in front of him, and upped the pace in order to catch up. He started well enough, pulling himself up the cargo net and sliding his body between the logs at the top, then running along the platform and starting up the ladder. By the time he was half-way up, he was already exhausted. He pressed on, wanting to catch up with Casper and uneasy at the thought of disappointing Blackmore, which seemed inevitable. As he made his way down the taller rope wall, Mason was already panting and has a painful stabbing sensation in his side. He was barely half way down the net when he slipped and fell the remainder of the drop. A few seconds later, he dragged himself back to his feet and dusted himself off, wheezing violently as he looked ahead at the other students and tried to catch his breath. This was going to be just as hard as it looked.
