[HIDER=The Daito-Afghan treaty] The following treaty is in accordance with the agreements made discreetly between Prime Minister Inukai Tsuyoshi of the Daito Empire and Amir Habibullah Khan of the Emirate of Afghanistan in the years 1915-1916. This treaty shall remain in effect until either party sees it fit to end or renegotiate the terms. Annulment of this treaty must be declared 24 months prior to the date of termination. Article 2: The Daito Empire pledges to aid the Emirate of Afghanistan with ten million in U.S dollars per year. Article 3: The Emirate of Afghanistan pledges to pay special attention to the Daito Empire in future years when it comes to the distribution the as-of-yet untapped resources of the Emirate. - Section 1: The Emirate shall favour trade of iron, copper, gold, sulphur, coal, rubies and other such resources to be found in the Emirate with the Daito Empire over other nations, and at a reduced price. - Section 2: The Emirate shall welcome Japanese firms into Afghanistan and impose lower tariffs upon Japanese goods once Afghanistan has become independent of British encroachment. Article 4: The Daito Empire pledges to aid the Emirate of Afghanistan in improving its agriculture and military strength so as to speed the process of freeing Asia of colonial influence. - Section 1: The Empire of Daito shall supply the Emirate of Afghanistan with agricultural and military specialists in order to educate and better the skills of Afghan farmers and soldiers. On the subject of Ireland, His Majesty's government condemns all violent acts on behalf of both the Ulster Volunteers and the Irish Volunteers and to stop terrorism coming from both sides the British Army shall be sent to Ulster and aim to disarm both forces. We can reach a solution only at the negotiating table. -David Lloyd George, Prime Minister of His Majesty's Government
