[@CLIW], tell me more about this syringe gun.  How does it work?  Does it like shoot from a distance, or does she have to be close enough to poke them with it?  Does it work by injecting something into the blood stream that kills or knocks the person out?  I feel like it's a cool concept, but it kinda scars me a little because it's really hard for a person to fight the effects of an injection, so it feels like it might be more over-powered then a normal gun or knife or something.
