Personality: Like most Inquisitors, she is an enigma, wrapped in a mystery. She makes cold and calculating decisions that she deems necessary, even condemning whole armies to their deaths, but her demeanor is that of someone who has a deep care for the people. She sniffs whenever she enters a room, claiming that she has memorized the smell of heresy.

Inquisitor Marian has a long and distinguished career in the Ordo Hereticus. Her most notable campaign was to lead a Sisters of Battle Detachment against a Gene Stealer cult on Salrasha, a planet near Nocturne and a recruiting world for one of the legendary first founding Chapters. Initially believed to be a Chaos cult, the Sisters fought a hard-won victory. Had it not been for her actions and brilliant leadership, the cult might have succeeded in calling Hivefleet Leviathan to consume the world. For this, the Salamanders forged a blade and presented it to her, a sword they called "Vulkans Knife" due to it's small, lightweight size.

With the 9th Black Crusade approaching the hive world of Corillia, she has withdrawn from an investigation of corruption in the Bogplur sector to Corillia to achieve a goal that the Ordo Hereticus cannot afford not to. To recover an artifact that they thought safe, but with the coming of the Black Legion, questions of its safety have been called into question.
